I like 3D Tank games. Well, I like all tank games.

No idea if this one is good but I'm curious to try it.

Cyber Sled is on System 21, and we haven't had any ACA releases from that hardware yet. The sequel, Cyber Commando, was on System 22.

Anyway, I hope to god we get Rave Racer before anything else.

Aw sheeeit. I actually played this when it was new on a field trip to Toronto, all we had in my yard were the truly ubiquitous Raiden and SFIICE. The post office was packed out, old dude postmaster built an outdoor patio (read: plywood floor with a zinc lean-to roof) to get us out of the way and made mad fucken bank. WTF am I doing reminiscing in this holy NAMCO BURB WEEK  Yes quite happy to see this one! 3D Tank Battalion is exactly what I thought, though not in 1996. I thought it was one of them thar Sega 3Ds like Daytona and VF2!

YESSSSS, I love Tank! Tank! Tank! from the Wii U version. It was even a North American launch title, day and date with the system - though I've looked at several lists of launch titles to be sure I wasn't crazy (I was not!) and some didn't list it! Such disrespect! :P

Anyway that is how I learned of Tokyo Wars, but I've never actually had much chance to play it. That will change soon!

Amidst all Namco's iconic character-driven series - Pac, Mappy, DigDug/Driller aka BARADUKE GAIDEN: KISSY no 離婚 - I find the stoic anonymity of their tank ouvre so endearing. ALL BUSINESS ON THE HELLISH BATTLEFIELD, MEN

Shifting gear (bwaaa!) from tanks to another storied Namco AC vehicle, racecars - was recently struck by ACE DRIVER's attempt at a sulky bishonen MC dude. Look at 'em pouting away with he helmet!

To be fair, I'd be down for Cyber Sled to even get a modern/current gen port. Especially if they can get two player VS support working. The last time Cyber Sled got ported was on the Wii (arcade version), and as a PS1 classic on PS3. Sadly, both of those are delisted (with the Wii shop gone and the PS1 classic version being pulled).

I'm down for Rave Racer too if it ever happens. Also, if Hamster can work their magic, and then if they can work with both Arika and Bamco together, Fighting Layer too. (Since Hamster has already brought over both the first two Tetris: TGM games.)
I've Come to Deliver Some Bad Luck!

God DAMN. Look at KUROBUTA-SENSEI demolishing the enemy lines! Image Image Hamster's trailer play was uncharacteristically a little stiff; this is more like it.

Every muhfucka dies. Not every muhfucka dies runnin up on like three dozen other muhfuckas. Image Image

At the sight of such FUTURE IS NOW porygontal energy, my boner for ACA StarBlade is suitably refreshed! Image

EDIT: Operation Puppet ♫ Image Them Tracknames. Recalls Konami's crisply dead-eyed n' fatalistic DEATH BEFORE VISION. edit2: wonder if POLYGONET COMMANDERS might ever show up on ACA, haha. Konami being a Ham-chans stalwart on par with Namco and Taito! Ah man, wtb ACA Search And Rescue. How I love these dudes. Passion Plus Performance, baybee! Image Image

Entirely as expected of Kuro, aspiring PhD in the most hardcore tank battling known to man, Masanobu Endo's masterful Grobda! SAMURAI BATORINGU as cunningly articulated as it is ferociously instant. Dun sleep on Grobda, men of shumpfarm! It may not have the visual panache of ASSAULT or TANK FORCE, but ho ho hoooly balls, it's got that DISCIPRINE. Image A current top five desert island pick tbh; could easily see it maintaining top ten post-1CC. Even mere survival is rigorous, never mind performance!
HE BLOW HIS LOAD FAR 2 QUICKLY, ONLY II TAKE BACKSHOT! (◎w◎;) (`w´メ)
Image
^ even noobs can enjoy Grobda! but learn disciprine and that not happen! Image

---

WTB ACA Rave Racer with a fuckin Voice toggle. Or better yet frequency slider. Great quips but way too frequent. Admittedly none as individually irritating as R4's bitchass emcee! Your grandma drives faster? As I miss the WR by half a planck? All respect ma'am your grandson ain't shit, I'll make him eat my ass at gunpoint the punkass bitch Image I can't entirely hate him though! Hilarious burns at poor DIG Racing Team aka DIG UR OWN GRAVE team in their ending!

This time last year I'd have worried about that cutting-edge killer OST getting butchered, with MEGA/AYA/SANODIGY and co's prodigious sampling. They are called SAMPLINGMASTERS for a reason, muhfucka! But ACA RR's OST is AFAIK note-perfect, so I'm more hopeful.

Also good god damn, I really like Ridge Racers 2 (PSP/PS5... not PS4, has irritating framehitch, I can deal with it in 2D, but in 3D, even at metronomic regularity, it does me fookin head in m8 ) - but its Rave Racer BGM selection is criminally shite. Come to think of it, so is its R2 and Rage and anything not R4! WTF! So yes, wtb KAMIKAZE and HEART OF HEARTS and especially HEAT FLOOR pls. What a great trackname, that last one. Image Also man Cecil you keep all the best stuff up all these years ;w;7

Aww yeah! You know mech pilots don't give a crap, when they're doing zero gravity fights with flails while orbiting Saturn.

Wonder if they'll ever do Zoo Keeper. Since that's an American game but also published by Taito, who they've done a ton of work with. Probably unlikely since these titles seem to sell a lot better in Japan and almost no one in Japan would know what Zoo Keeper is. But more likely than other American-developed games, and it's a really fun one.

It was in Taito Legends. I played it in on an actual arcade cab at a place that also had Super Qix (not American designed but designed by Kaneko of Gals Panic fame). Fun game. Electric Yoyo is another American one I would like to see.

Hamster don't do American games, do they?

There are a lot of Midway titles I'd like to see released under ACA. Like NARC.

Not usually, but the occansional American designed game from a Japanese company like Qix does show up. Not American designed, but an obscure US version of Jungle King, Pirate Pete, made it to Arcade Archives.

Love that coin-op. I think I have only ever seen it ported to PS2, and that had a bad framerate.

That same comp was on Xbox and GameCube. They might have had a better framerate but still have their own issues. I would definitely like someone other than Digital Eclipse handling these games. I don't have my hopes up with the current mismanagement of Warner Bros., though.

Not a shmup, but Glen and Gil they become part of Aero Fighters 3 as the P-61 pilots there.
VideoSystem's Toushin Blazers/Karate Blazers is this week's title, breaking the pattern that ended with Taito.
