You might recall having played TAD Corporation's Cabal (TrakBall variant version) & Blood Bros. sequel at the arcades back in the day or even Wild Guns on the SNES with it's similar type of gameplay.

Just want to add in: I think Space Moth: Lunar Edition is really a cute hidden gem!!!

Really enjoyed my time with it; very zen plus good challenge!~

So this is currently like $5.50 on the Switch and it's good!

Thus far, even though I was playing handheld, I kinda prefer traditional control rather than the twin-stick. Since it plays differently than every other twin-stick game on the planet (in that, you can't move while firing), it feels very... weird to play using that control scheme (this may be a personal brain-wiring thing)

But even though they're sort-of presenting it as a goofy novelty title, it's really well put together, challenging, and perhaps even has some depth (I only played for 20 minutes grand total, but it's pretty obvious there's a ton of ways you can rack up score)

So, if you don't like cabals, it isn't going to change your mind. But if you do, I'd say it's well worth the $5.50 ($5.60 on Steam, I just checked)

Edit: Okay, this game straight rules. Even though the general gameplay is different, overall, it reminds me of Black Bird (which also rules)

Double dipped in buying both the the Steam port & Switch port of Silver Bullet. Both ports offer online leaderboard support from the get-go. There is scanline filter support + option to change from LCD, CRT & True LCD display screen filter effects -- 20% scanline filter looks great on the 1st-gen LCD based Steam Deck & on the Oled Switch (you'll have to increase the overall brightness to compensate for lower contrast if implementing scanline filter with the Oled Switch's screen setup).

The Steam port of SB goes the "extra mile" in offering the player four seperate different control schemes (whereas with the Switch port, only options #1, #2 & #4 are listed available in the "Control" option selection screen):

1.) Traditional "old school" 8-way digital arcade stick + 3-button support.

2.) Twin Stick support with Left analog stick for moving & Right analog stick for aiming purposes.

3.) Keyboard + mouse support for those SB players that prefer that type of controller option (akin to Cabal's Trak-Ball endowed arcade cab setup in the American arcades).

4.) Custom mode -- SB player picks their own custom buttons for each specific function if so desired.

I wish there was true 4:3 aspect ratio screen support with Silver Bullet so that it can be displayed on a low-res 15.7kHz arcade monitor setup for that true "old-school" retro vibe (besides the usual widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio screen setup in vogue/fashion nowadays associated with indie retro gaming titles).

It'd be nice to see if 1CC Games releases Silver Bullet as a proper Exa-Arcadia arcade release as well -- it truly deserves a wider arcade gamer clientele/audience exposure at the very least -- SB would then have the perfect "trifecta" distinction of appearing on console, PC and arcades/game centers that most indie game devs would be jealous/dream of.

If you collect enough gold coins, you can "unlock" the hidden game mode of "Terror Blocks" with it's own separate online leaderboard -- it gives the Silver Bullet player extra incentive/motive to earn enough gold coins to do so.

Been having so much fun with this. Presentation and gameplay are top notch. Iv never played a game in this genre like Cabal but I’m going to try others now.

What input devices you guys like to use on Silver Bullet? I think I’m going with arcade stick but I have to say mouse was kind of interesting

I was going to start a thread about Silver Bullet, but as it's not a true shmup, I didn't... Anyhow, this is the game Jamden88 and I have been working on for a while. We had a couple of extra people helping us - Ammie did all the music, Vanja did a lot of programming. We wanted to make something a bit more relaxed this time around, maybe for players who aren't so score obsessed, but the longer we spent in development, the more arcade / shmup elements found their way in.

A note on scoring, and maybe something we could've made clearer - you want to be building accuracy as high as possible to unlock more valuable bonus items, as they're the main source of points. Bonus items are tied to accuracy and increase in value every 250 hits. When you fire Silver, the dog, everything he touches spawns bonus items. If you die you drop 750 accuracy points, 3 items. We originally had it that they reset but it was far to strict.

With the controls, in single stick mode you can only move the crosshair whilst firing, so we made the cooldown slightly longer for missing shots. It's the control method I always use with a 360 controller and you can max out accuracy fairly easily.

The game looks tougher than it is. Dashing is key, you can bash through almost anything that isn't a bullet, plus you can actually parry bullets whilst standing still.

Also, for the Steam version, it works with a Wiimote and dolphin bar. We will probably make an announcement about that once we've tested it with more guns. And post some hints about the secret items.

If on October 22nd you would have told me I would be ignoring Night Striker Gear and instead playing Silver Bullet at every opportunity, I would have told you that your crystal ball could use a wipe down.

If you would have bet me $100 on this future event, I would currently be handing you a picture of Ben Franklin.

I think the 2016 international shmup accord did deem cabals as shmups (and unless the 2018 accord amended this, I believe it still stands)
The game looks tougher than it is.
It's pretty goddamn tough (although, I acknowledge I probably need to dash more often. Since I'm bad at judging where the dash is going to end, I've been a bit squirrely on using it, and mostly just try to dodge traditionally)
