Given the lack of options that have been available for a while, I decided to try and make my own version of the Virtual Tap. Currently finalising my first design of the board before I send it off and then hand assemble it, but if everything works as it should then I plan on making a minimal run of machine assembled boards built and tested, and then hopefully a larger run of about 50 boards, targeting a price of around $60 (USD) with an included ribbon cable - I don't know if that price will include shipping yet, but UK international shipping prices are generally pretty reasonable.
So far, I've made some changes to the board - I've changed it to a 4 layer board in order to get everything to fit on one side and added mounting holes, so that it's better suited for consolized builds. The footprint is marginally larger than the original, but it should still fit inside a VB pretty easily. I've also had to slightly rearrange some of the outputs compared to the original just to get everything to fit more comfortably.
Just wanted to gauge interest in these before committing to a large order and see if there's any changes people would like to see for any reason.
