Hehe, I stand corrected. Well, whatever they refer to the engine as it runs great on any platform. Reboot on PS4 was nigh-perfect as well.

On top of these, there's also a 1up in the respawning walls of Stage 5, one in the bottom left on Stage 6 that activates once the horizontal scroll kicks in, and yet another during the train section of Stage 6 that must be 1x1 pixels wide, as I'm never successful in snagging it. Definitely worth memorizing every last one, as the newest update patched out the bug that gave you 6 extends at 8,000,000,000.

Not sure if they're revealing unlock conditions for the recently added characters or what.

Still trying to figure this out myself. If it was as simple as 2-ALLing with every character or grabbing every hidden icon, surely someone else would've discovered it by now lol

I wonder if the the two hidden characters are playable characters or if that part of the patch notes is about things you find in the stages. The tweets about hidden stage items use the same characters as the part of the patch ones that talks about hidden characters:

* プレイヤーキャラクターとして「マリオン」が、さらに2種類の隠しキャラクターが追加されました。

The bold characters are also what the tweet about things hidden through the stage mentions, so perhaps we’ve misunderstood. It would be weird to talk about hidden stage collectible characters in the same bullet point as new playable characters but this game feels like a bit of a hot mess so who knows.

The round girl with glasses and the alternate version of Cotton just randomly showed up after playing Arcade for a while. I have to wonder if it's just a timed unlock, or perhaps time spent in a specific mode. I've only played Arcade mode myself.
