Interesting review of the Time Crisis series.
Time Crisis 5
Re: Time Crisis 5
The Time Crisis franchise turns 30 this year. I really hope Namco is planning something for this franchise. I don't want it to be just that AI gun I've been hearing about with the original game as well as Point Blank and Steel Gunner 1 and 2.

Re: Time Crisis 5
Time Crisis 5 is decent, but I could swear when I played it in the arcade I could feel some lag in the aiming and the game was stuttering whenever it loaded. It just doesn't feel right. The guns feel kinda weak too. Not a huge fan of switching all these different weapons and such. It's a light gun game, keep it fast and simple, ya know?
Time Crisis 1 & 2 (and Crisis Zone) will always hold a special place in my heart though. Those are probably the three best games in the genre.

Re: Time Crisis 5
I just want this game ported to consoles already because I already have the entire series, and it just doesn't seem right for the most recent entry to be left out, you know? And 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the franchise, I don't want Bandai Namco to waste it by simply re-releasing the first game on a plug and play controller. I mean, it's like how Capcom did Street Fighter's 30th anniversary with yet another re-release of Street Fighter II and Raiden did its 30th anniversary by re-releasing Raiden IV. If not this year, maybe next year or some other time. I want Bandai Namco to up the ante and give us a compilation of all five Time Crisis titles for modern consoles, and with a new gun controller to boot. One that can work on today's TVs.

Re: Time Crisis 5
Yeah Ebb, its been a decade and Time Crisis 5 hasn't been ported to current gen platforms. (Ditto for HotD: Scarlet Dawn which is almost close to a decade.)
It seems that it was easy for Bamco and Sega to bring out their Light Gun games to consoles within the PS1-PS4 generations easily, but not so much for the ones I mentioned above. I mean, the tech and power is there for them to do so. Still odd that the latest titles in those series haven't yet seen console ports.

I'm still waiting for both that and HOTD to finally get ported. I don't care how long it takes. This is going to be my white whale. Of course, next year also marks the 30th anniversary of HOTD, I hope Sega has something special planned for that franchise.
Re: Time Crisis 5
Huh? HOTD was ported to Switch years ago and to PC even longer ago. Of course, The Switch version had upgraded graphics, and the old PC version downgraded graphics..
But it has been ported.
I would like to see decent Hamster/M2 release though
Re: Time Crisis 5
I'm talking about the newest game, Scarlet Dawn. That's the only one that hasn't seen a console port. On top of that, I also want a 6th HOTD game, where we see Thomas Rogan, his daughter Lisa, G, Kate Green, Daniel Curien, and Ryan Taylor face off against Thornheart and his horde of zombies in one final battle.
Re: Time Crisis 5
Ah, true. The latest ones were never ported - which is odd since they were apparently made with Unreal Engine. All you would need to do was to press "package" button (well not really but close enough)xEbb1993x wrote: ↑Mon Sep 15, 2025 3:31 pm I'm talking about the newest game, Scarlet Dawn. Re: Time Crisis 5
So yeah. If we got a console port of Time Crisis 5 and Scarlet Dawn, all would be right in the world. I also wish we got console ports of Virtua Cop 3 and Lethal Enforcers 3. And maybe Police 911 2 and Target Bravo: Operation G.H.O.S.T.
