I will. I'm even allowed to lock the thread myself after I start the new one. Might be this coming weekend though. And adding inn scores will be a work in progress over time.

Cheers mate.

I'll help you with the scores with what I have. Might it also be worth the trouble to html link the title in the list to a picture? I can take pics and host everything that I have.

Good idea. And I'd be delighted to collaborate with you on it a bit. As if I'd ever manage to get it done without hassling you for loads of details anyway!

I think is a very good idea a list with hi-score for each dvd video.

There is a way to buy / obtain a copy of mikado dvd?

Most everything I have listed in this thread is long gone and sold. I pick up DVDs when I go to the doujin convention in Kawaguchi twice a year. The next one is May 25th, so catch me soon after and I'll have a new batch from Mikado, INH, as well as the others previously listed. Hopefully there will be a few new producers as well.

I work on top japanese hi-score document since 2002. To understand secrets, strategy and mistery in these scores I search from 12 years all best super play video available.

I'm not interested in original dvd because i'm not collector of objects, but i'm interested in files video only. I can exchange files video with my superplay archive (I have 10 times of the total share in old site super-play).

From a superplay video is possible know important informations in a top score, and I share these informations in my document Gamest / Arcadia top score.

So I ask: is possible for me exchange or buy with you or other users superplay video from Mikado game center?

Sorry - I don't sell or trade copied / pirated DVDs. If people are willing to go to the trouble to make and produce these DVDs, then it's their right to charge money for their work and I want to support them in their efforts. If Mikado, INH, SGAD, Gamest, or any other superplay producers wanted to have their files passed around freely, I'm sure they have the technical knowledge to upload their files to Youtube or any other video sharing site.

Sorry but I not agree about superplay material.

Is near to impossible buy superplay video because in 99% of the cases are home-made material, product in few copies (Sgad and Mikado are home-made, not available in shop because aren't official productions). Only if you are physically in Mikado game center at the exact day of distribution you have chance to buy a copy of these dvd. For foreign visitors is almost impossible.

I not have problems to spend xx $ in a dvd, but there aren't chances for me, because when I have the chance to buy, these dvd are always sold out, always, forever. There isn't other way to pay a original copy.

I'm a collector of informations and not a collector of objects. So I search a way to watch at least 1 time these videos. Years ago, many famous jap players exchanged superplay video in utatane world. Only exchange of videos files, and 95% of them was hi-score replay (not in sell) played from the same utatane users. Now utatane is dead and is difficult find new videos.

I'm nervous that this could derail this thread, but my perspective is this. If it is the product of a creator made to be sold, then it doesn't matter how hard it is to get hold of; piracy is piracy. Just because I can't find a way of buying something, doesn't mean it's OK to steal it. A know somebody with a very rare 1927 Ford car; I'd likely never find one even if I wanted one; does that mean I'm allowed to steal the car if I spot one out the back of the Ford factory? No.

Of course, some superplay footage is created to be shared freely, and sharing that is, of course, fine.

And we don't support piracy on this forum. Of course there are grey areas around MAME, but direct promotion of piracy is against the forum rules. Remember this; some of our members are people that make a living out of developing shmups, etc. Piracy impacts their ability to pay the rent. It's not fair on them.

But to be clear, Gemant; I appreciate you are not trying to do anything like that here.

Still, if ROM begging is banned here, asking for pirated superplay files isn't something to be tolerated.

I'm just a wimp with piracy in general. I was once given a burned copy of the Futari superplay DVD as a surprise gift. Even that made me feel really guilty!

Is there any links to buy some of the older content? I'm specifically interested in "Konami Shooting Best" - and if they aren't in print any more officially, is there anywhere the videos can be viewed?

Yahoo is the best place to get VHS tapes. If you're in Tokyo, the Mandarake shops have them as well.

Wow, that Konami Shooting superplays is quite interesting.

Hope these DVDs was still available in Amazon or eBay at least with more "friendly" price.

Are these replays floating around anywhere? I've been trying to find more replays for scoring the second loop of this game, without much luck. Is the DAB.S replay one of these 3? I'm really interested in the Magoichi replay mentioned. His scoring potential shouldn't be higher than Sandayu, but the mention of this replay mixed with JHA not accepting high scores for him makes me wonder.

Sorry for the necro, but this is the only mention I can find about these replays anywhere.

For Kazact,

Your best bet is to check on the Yahoo Japan auction site. I've done many VHS Superplays to DVD-R conversions in the past -- just gotta make sure that you have the right professional A/V gear to pull it off though. It's interesting to learn that the HDK's Factory based STG VHS Superplays have Macrovision anti-copying protection scheme embedded within the recordings themselves (but there are ways to bypass it if it needed be).

These are the data I can provide from Daytona III kayouclub page.
VASARA 2 (PLAYER ゴッドハンド) 30.474.360 PTS
VASARA 2 (PLAYER DAB.S) 30.992.110 PTS

The VHS of Magoichi I think it has never been bought by any western user. It was available for a short time. The player was one of the two who made the other two VHS.

PS: Sorry I missed your reply PC Engine Fan. I will take your advice and check Yahoo Japan often. I would really love to own original copies of these just for the history.
