Sony Triniton CRT – Severe Geometry Distortion

Post by rattotakki »

Hello,
I have an old Sony CRT television, a 16:9 model, specifically the KV-32CS70B. Unfortunately, the picture is very distorted (first attached image – note that the squares on the right side are much wider than the squares on the left side). I’m also including a photo of the “geometry” settings from the service menu. Is there anything that can be done? Or is it necessary to physically intervene on the hardware?
Thank you,
Alessandro

What the heck is going in in the center of the top photo? That looks like a distorted aperture grille or something. Why isnt it present in the second photo?

I would start by putting the Horizontal size currently showing 6 and Horzontal Position 53 midway around 30.

Also try posting at reddit crtgaming. The 240p test suite gets an outing nearly every day there.
