SNES M80 Kiosk Monitor Zenith CD15MNTC1 HAALP!

Post by Hoagtech »

I got a SNES kiosk that had no video. It was also mishandled by UPS and broke shattered the housing and popped out some of the components.

After recapping the JP-21 Cable and reseating the jumpers and neck neck PCB.

I was able to get this image..

I have another monitor handy so I know the JP-21 cable is working properly and that the fault is in the monitor somewhere.

Does anyone know of a common fault that causes this behavior?

Also before I recap it. Is there a service manual available for either the SNES kiosk M80C or the monitor Zenith CD15MNTC1 that someone has come across?

I was told by a industry electronic repairman to never change out majority of capacitors without checking out ripple values in a service manual but I cannot find one or a way to determine that on the caps themselves.

I was able to fully recap this clients SNES kiosk Monitor and love to adjust its many pots on the Chassis and Neck PCB but I can not find any documentation for the life of me!

Its a SNES M80 Tabletop Kiosk

Its monitor is a Zenith CD15MNTC1

Here is the main board and its 6 potentiometers

And it's neck PCB with x7 potentiometers

It has a problem with bowing or parabolic pincushion

I need to adjust Green and red bias down so I can get my bright whites and jet blacks on my calibration.

Has ANYONE worked on these SNES Kiosk Monitors and could point me to any scraps of info pertaining to adjusting this monitor outside of Brightness and contrast?

Thanks
