Looks great! For the SNES game, will you be redrawing the art or will it be scaled down for the lower resolution?

We here shall not rest until we have made a drawing-room of your shaft, and if you do not all finally go down to your doom in patent-leather shoes, then you shall not go at all.

Just a heads up, I think there might be a copy-paste error with that link - it's a 404.

We will mainly scale down the art or adjust the balancing to ensure the challenge is consistent with other consoles.

The main differences on the SNES will be recoloring, transparency adjustments, and balance tweaks.

As we progress in the development of the game, we may need to modify or redraw some art, but this will always be done in favor of gameplay.

Creating a game across both SNES and MegaDrive sounds like an ordeal. I love programming for the SNES, but I wouldn't want to try making the same things work across other platforms.
I guess going the other way around enforces some natural limitations that makes it easier to wield as long as you don't need the excess sprite graphics data.

Are you compiling the SNES port using C (and I guess libsfc?), or are you programming it from scratch?

It'd be a real shame pixel art like this gets downscaled(!), even if it's for original aspect ratio reasons. Retooling/rebalacing for a totally different, alternate version sounds way better, doesn't it (unless you're really willing to redraw every sprite, that is)?

We are using both C and assembly language to design our engine for the SNES version!

The sprite resizing will not be a simple downscale but a manual resize to preserve the quality of the sprites and animations.

If that involves something else than just removing vertical (and horizontal) lines of pixels, that's still redrawing sprites to me, especially if you intend to take advantage of the SNES' colors. So well, good luck!
