I havnet upgraded my mame in a very long time , is there any improvments in the later versions for SH3 games ?

Yeah, there was a major update a couple years back (forum thread).
Games also work well in FinalBurn Neo nowadays.

Ok nice, I prefer FBNEO tbh , do you have to adjust any settings in FBNEO to get it working properly?

I just set the "cpu-speed-adjust" (core option) to 50%, as recommended in the thread I linked.
Managed 1CCs of DFK and Original Mushi and Futari with that.
