Re: Trizeal Remix - Switch
Haha such a random thing to do! Disappointed they didn't do a physical release for DeltaZeal and XIIZeal. Don't expect this to lead to one either

Re: Trizeal Remix - Switch
I really liked the commentary track on DeltaZeal; it had some interesting stuff to say. Should be a good addition in this one too.
Re: Trizeal Remix - Switch
Best news I've heard in a while, thanks for sharing. Triangle Gang members get ready to buy another copy of Trizeal!

Trizeal Remix appeared on the USA region Switch eShop at 9:00 pst today, 6/05/2025, with a 20% discount making it $15.99 and is a mere 226mb d/l. Cool to play the Taito G-Net version of "XII Stag" on the Switch.

Fujino has spent the last twenty years begging people to buy Trizeal, and he hasn't been disappointed yet!

Not to veer too far off topic, but I really don't know what my issue with emulation is.Redream and Flycast are your friends.
Multiple people tell me "get an Xbox S. It's the cheapest, easiest, most awesome emulation machine second only to a Dreamcast". So I get one, set it up, play a couple Saturn games then never look at it again (seriously, I don't know where the usb stick containing all that stuff even is anymore)
Perhaps it's the 'ol "If you can do everything, why do anything?". Perhaps scrolling through all those systems then all those roms just makes everything feel so anonymous that it saps all joy. I'm really not sure
Now, someone emailed me about some MiSTer sooperstation box they're making, and while it seems real great in theory, I know I'm ultimately not it's audience.

Re: Trizeal Remix - Switch
I totally get this, kind of a decision paralysis sort of thing. I'll fire up Launchbox and just sit there, looking at all the games and not be able to decide to play anything. While games were an expensive PITA to get hold of BITD, there was definitely something about putting one of your limited number of games (cartridge or a disc) into a console and playing it time after time, or rushing home with the game you'd just been into town to buy and playing it. Getting my PS1 chipped so it could play copies kind of ruined it for me. Sigh. So many games, so little time... The sun's shining, maybe I'll just go out on my bike instead.m.sniffles.esq wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 7:52 pmNot to veer too far off topic, but I really don't know what my issue with emulation is.Redream and Flycast are your friends.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Trizeal's ok.
Re: Trizeal Remix - Switch
This is my first time playing this one, and it hasn't clicked for me yet. Whatever signifiers exist to highlight when/where to use each of the three weapon types are either too subtle, or non-existent, as I find my main disconnect being a clear understanding when/where to switch attacks. Some functionality is simply implied, where I can assume Laser is a more powerful but narrow attack, and Wide is low DPS unless I point-blank enemies, but the intricacies are so far lost on me. Would love any advice on weapon switching in this one.
Formerly known as 8 1/2. I return on my second credit!

Re: Trizeal Remix - Switch
The ST gives a good overview of the weapon types and how it works when you swap between them:

I find Trizeal (unlike DeltaZeal, which gives you a massive damage bonus for sticking to one weapon) to be quite flexible. I don't think there's a point where you can't get a special bonus from a speed kill due to the weapon you're using - so experiment with what you prefer. Laser is weaker but the piercing effect can sometimes be useful, but if you prefer aggressive play you can get more damage out of point blanking with missiles.
