Shooters I should buy....

I'm thinking of picking up Garegga and Radiant Silvergun for my Saturn, and Ikaruga for my Cube... would it be well worth my time to also find a Dreamcast again?

yes, ger Garegga, and RSG, also try grabbing DDP (PS1 version is "superior" though) and Souky imo.

Dreamcast? ALWAYS worth it.

imho. DC Ikaruga >>>>>>>>>>>>>> GC Ikaruga.

it's "arcade perfect"

not to mention some other great stuff as well, (G.Rev ftw! BorderDown is not to be missed)

Yes! As RoninBuddha said, the DC is always worth it! Aside from the aforementioned Ika, there's Gunbird 2, Mars Matrix, Psyvariar 2, Under Defeat and many more (those are just my favorites). Plus, the DC was host to a fine non-shmup selection of games that you can't find elsewhere. Do yourself the favor... again.

Are you sure? The PS1 version is really grainy and ugly compared to mame.

Play it in tate, the graphics are arcade perfect. The only thing wrong is that you need to select ships in options menu and that it is slightly faster than the original (thus a bit more difficult).

Definitely better than the Saturn port, although MAME is best, yeah.

PS is best, mame runs slow and the music is downsampled.

SS, for all its flaws, runs at the proper speed without any loading mid-level and easy restarts, so I prefer that version.

Get Einhander for PS1 if you can. it's fairly sadistic sometimes, but it's a good shooter even now. almost like a side-scrolling Raiden in some ways. (enemies prefer firing at you rather than in volleys of shots, but like switching it up to throw you off.)

I was indeed looking for games to purchase... I'm sort of computer retarded and haven't gotten MAME to run properly on my system. Anyone have some tips?

Heh, don't worry about being computer retarded, I'm the same way. I know some people may not like me saying this, but always buy your games. Y'know, it's just more legit (not to mention no hassle of downloading anything). I'm not dissin' emulation completely, but it's always cooler to have the actual game (and I think that may be one of the reasons some of us buy PCBs).
