3 lives, default bomb count, difficulty 2 (normal). For Arcade, extends are 800,000,000 and 1,800,000,000. For 1.5, extends are 1,500,000,000 and 3,500,000,000.

For the 360 port, make sure it's updated to v1.01, and do not enable any of the cheats besides Invisible Operator. gadget so good.

Xenia's kinda weird right now in general, but especially with this game, as saving doesn't seem to work, and getting the update to load is difficult. Type-D especially, good luck with that. Not only is saving weird, but you can't go online, so no Score Attack, and so grinding for Type-D takes... a lot. I recommend against Xenia for now, but this STFS-focused build seems to get the update loaded at least. (Well actually canary and maybe master as well seem really good nowadays, just download those.)

Kinda sorta maybe feel like we need two topics for this game, but there's no good way of choosing which modes go where. Also worried about whether I should split for Inbachi or not, like some wanted. This game has even more shit in it than Daifukkatsu, somehow. Tables for the Inbachi mode? Tables for turning off overflow? No... no more tables... nooOooOoOOooo......

...oh, we have a Switch version now. Oh boy.

Regarding Saidaioujou & Knuckles, it just seems to be a funny graphics hack; presumably the not-hack will surface soon. With all the campaigning over slowdown, very few people are going to play this on MAME anyway. Just mention you played the hack and we're good.

Randomly played this today and got a clear with something other than Type-D. I never use hyper because I don't know what I'm doing. Might be able to get a better score if I actually did use hyper, but here you go for now.

Regarding the difficulty of Novice, the first 3 stages are definitely easy unless you do something stupid, and stage 4 isn't too bad. The last stage took me a while to work out, had quite a few runs where I crashed and burned on stage 5, or reached the boss with no resources.
