CRT-Jittering problem

Post by 1080pWarrior »

Recently, I had just bought a crt due to the fact that I am very passionate about old technology and gaming. Although a problem persists while I'm playing, and it's ruining the experience for me, and that is, when I'm going moderately fast horizontally, the level jitters back and forth. It doesn't seem to happen vertically, or to the characters. I would really like to record it for you guys to see, but seems non-existent when seen through a camera. If it helps explain anything, I'm playing on a real N64, and the games where it is most noticeable is Mario Kart 64 and Super Mario 64.

Are you possibly referring to the 30fps frame rate of those games?

With that description it's kind of hard to say if this is abnormal or just normal behavior. With CRT's some degree of jitter is not unusual.

Yeah, I really dont know what hes referring to, but with the games mentioned, its definitely not 480i flicker.
