Well, digital pre-order's on the JP E-shop (still lists JP text only like the original), so yeah, still have to possibly wait on a overseas release for English and other text languages. Also, someone will hopefully compare if the Visual Fanbook's contents will be similar to that of the Capture & Guide Book "Archive Anchor".

Are they going to release it on any other platforms? PS5 would be nice.

If its anything like the original version, they'll probably also release it on PC/Steam (since the stretch goal was almost close to reaching, but they said somewhere via the campaign they got it reached internally). But yeah, other platforms would be nice. I mean, it was on PS2 before. And Xbox would benefit having Exelica back with Enhanced, since they already had the original (though delisted).

Also, sadly, the Gallery mode from the PS2 version, will not be included in this port (Nor for future ports), due to it being very difficult to implement. The reason is that the CG's will be included instead in Enhanced's Visual Fan Book instead.

First nerfed Faintear, now this. Another point against the game.
Also, looks like the upscaling of the artwork was quite badly done, like if they resized the 640x480 and threw blur filters. Just take a look at the title screen.

Yeah, it seems that the modern port of Enhanced is being a very big oof lately here and there. But either way, if and when the eventual PC/Steam port comes out, at least hopefully that the assets aren't just being downscaled from the Switch version. And that its at least decently HD, and not with blur filters and such.

I know you are, and besides, you have the Homura avatar from Game Tengoku who's a real badass (voicing by Hiyama is a big plus too, lol.).

Myself though, I have it on all platforms Exelica's been on, including the PS2 version LE with the Exelica nendoroid. I'll still get the modern version of Enhanced eventually (whenever they bring it overseas on Switch, or wait for the eventual PC/Steam release).

Great news: Exelica is a switch 2 compatible title, according to this Google translation.

It's nice to confirm that Switch 2 is not emulating Switch 1 at least, and it's more of an optimization and engine issue. That's actually really good news, as it means the back catalog should continue to grow as teams catch up vs something like Xbox 360 where it stagnated really quickly.

Seems kinda crazy they'd put Vanilla on Steam and not follow up with Enhanced. I would assume this will appear eventually, but for now it does seem to be Switch exclusive. It's nice for the sake of preservation that we have new ports of both versions, but they really bungled this whole thing. This should have just been a combo release with all versions in one box from Day 1. Still, if this double-dip helps fund them enough to someday get us a new port of Shikigami III I'd gladly support the cause.

Yeah, it's coming to Steam. The crowdfunding campaign mentioned that PC porting would start after Switch was done, and they're taking a little longer on it so that they can get it working on Steam Deck and add more localizations. https://www.makuake.com/project/cosmomachia_02/

As Ms. Tea said, basically, but yeah, its going to take a while for a localization of Enhanced. Also, that version's story mode is expanded than the one from the original version considering most of the CG cutscenes happen before you start a stage, and some cutscenes happen at specific points in-game, that and with 3 characters total, its most likely a lot of work to get that officially localized into other various languages. The steam version of the original on its store page shows 9 languages to select from, doubtful if Enhanced will include additional ones, but time will tell.

Also, Jonpachi, Shiki 3 on PC/Steam has been out a fair good while.

And yes, the text on the box for that does indeed look like Domplete instead of Complete at first glance. I see what they were going for with that, but it still looks really odd.

From what I've seen/heard, all they did was change her main shot since they no longer had the source code from the PS2 version, so they had to rework it from scratch to be a constant firing laser (to the probability that it might be weaker than it was with her original laser shot). Originally, her laser had steady streams between shots, which was broken for scoring, since you could get lots of score items without having the need to anchor away at enemies. Not sure about speed, since she's faster than both Exelica/Crueltear normally if you don't anchor at anything on the PS2 version. Dunno if they kept it in on the modern/current gen port. Sadly, I don't have Enhanced on Switch, cause I'm just waiting on the translated PC/Steam version instead. (And then maybe down the road whenever it comes out overseas on Switch.)

As for the differences, they're fairly minor.

-Original has Arranged mode, Enhanced does not.
-Voices/Dialogue vary between versions. (Original has the original voices that you know from the DC and X360 versions. While Enhanced is newly recorded voices/dialogue, especially for its story mode, speaking of which...)
-Story mode differs between versions. (Original is fairly short and cut-scene dialogue happens at specific parts of the game. While Enhanced's story mode is expanded with various CG art and dialogue happening before and after stages and at certain in-game intervals.)

The PS2 version of Enhanced has the gallery, but the Switch version (and more likely by proxy PC/Steam version) does not include it. Both the original and Enhanced in the curent/modern gen ports includes Training and Leaderboards.

I'd tell you guys what the differences between the first and enhanced release differences are, except they had to cancel my pre-order for the Japanese limited edition release of it because too many people were trying to get a copy of it or something. I guess I'll wait for the red art games version.
