Is there a pinball thread here already? If so mods pls merge/delete.
Figured it would be well worth bringing up the topic of pinball games here as there's some nice crossover with shmups.
Arcade gaming - be there in person with the official hardware for the best experience. Focus on score chasing mechanics that are especially deep with modern games. Good sense of handcraft in the creation of related products. Somewhat niche genre. Collectible physical games that keep or grow in value, and are limited in their print runs. Fun and straightforward gameplay, with depth for those that want to explore. Etc.
I got back into pinball gaming through Pinball FX - particularly through the Bally Williams classics many of which still stand the test of time. Since then have attended UK Pinfest and visited one or two arcades each with a decent array of tables. Modern tables by Stern are absolute class, especially Godzilla which is my personal favourite currently. Other faves mainly from the classic '90s era, include Theatre of Magic, Arabian Nights, Medieval Madness, Stern 007 and Scared Stiff.
Anyone here into pins?

Re: The Pinball Thread
If you get the chance to attend the yearly California Extreme show, they show the latest pinball games + both classic & retro arcade games & pinball games as well: https://caextreme.org
