[HELP] Issue with the Vertical Size Vsize that is jerking on its own

Post by nicolascarre000 »

Hi,

I just spent an hour playing on recallbox, and now the screen starts changing/jerking the V.Size randomly. I then tested it on an original PCB (Mercs) and the same problem.

Here's what it looks like:

I've been able to play for hours since I've had my cabinet (1-2 years), but it's never happen before.
Does anyone know this issue, and how can I fix it ?

I just extracted everything, I took some photos of the board and it's extremely dirty, we can even see component paste between 2 solders, honestly I don't see where I can start.

Not sure if it's the main issue, but looks like there's some corrosion, particularly on some of the traces on the right side there. I'd start by desoldering and testing any suspicious capacitors/components and replacing as necessary, repairing trace damage and reflowing solder as necessary, and cleaning the board.

Just ruling out the obvious, did you check the potmeter used to control vsize?
Those old things break really easy, so it's the first thing I would check.
