Borti4938 N64RGB v2.1 ypbpr component output

Post by MaRCer »

On the github, the project description states that it is possible to output not only RGB, but also YPbPr, but I have not found anywhere how to switch to this mode. I'll do the cable, no problem - how will it switch to the ypbpr output?

Where does it say that? Are you sure you're not reading the N64Advanced docs?

Yeah you can, on tims latest boards, and I'm pretty sure firmware is cross compatible.
You'd have to check tims newest board and see where the option wires to.
Its little bit in the board you bridge with solder to make it permanent component.
I have fit a switch to either side of this for customers so it's selectable.

Edit
It would seem that tim does not have version 3 software available so you are out of luck.

Yes, I've just reread the description on github - it doesn't say anything about ypbpr output. YPbPr is mentioned in the video cable description table, but it is most likely left over from n64advanced. I was additionally confused by the product description on https://www.retroupgrades.co.uk/product/n64rgb-v2-1 /, but maybe they really sold it with tim's firmware.
