Similar in which sense? Aesthetically or gameplay-wise?
If you're looking for games that play in a similar fashion, I would recommend the whole Toaplan catalogue of verts on the MD (Fire Sharks, V-V, Daisenpuu, Twin Cobra, Slap Fight...)
If you want something that has the same allucinating mix of skulls and sci-fi setting, well then that's trickier. Maybe Shienryu on PSX shares some graphical similarities.
it is working but compared to the PCB sound/music isn't quite perfect, but close. it fits your search for truxton-like games, even though it is split into multiple levels, they are very long, full of constant fast action and completely space themed.
Gekirindan has Truxton and other Toaplan influences throughout the game. I'm sure it isn't a coincidence. Just check out the bomb and alternate fire of the player 1 type A ship.
The later levels of both shienryu and sengeki striker (and daioh) have some intense truxton-esqe moments, with super hard instant death mini bosses up the wazzoo that fire the ever common 3 bullet spread and the downwards laser, with the strings of popcorn enemies zipping around.
For me truxton's about the addictive start-overs and the hot music. (shienryu's got hot music, too)
Raiden and Raiden 2 don't have the same pacing or space theme, but a lot of other stuff in common.

I am very sure the chopper is a homage to Tiger Heli and the biplane is a homage to Flying Shark
Strongly recommended Viper Phase 1, it shared a similar space theme to Truxton (except one is about alien and one is mainly mechanical base), and it also a Truxton inspired too. Y'all know Seibu learns alot from Toaplan right?
