Question for Mayflash F300 users (Using your stick on multiple systems)
My Mayflash experience has been an irritating one so far.
The issue is, the consoles don't like it when they find out the Mayflash joystick has been whoring around with other consoles.
My experience:
If you take it out of the box and hook it up to your PS4; it works.
If you then hook it up to an Xbox One; it works.
If you then hook it up to an Xbox 360; it works. It works on all systems, WHEEE!!!!
But then hook it up to the PS4 again, and it doesn't respond right way, it takes some fucking around, and somehow it works.
Then I try it again with the XBONE or 360 again and it works on neither. Has this happened to anybody?
I have two of these F300's and two PS4 Magicboots. I first hooked them up to my PS4 and they worked fine. Then I hooked them up to the PS5 and they work fine. But then I tried to use it on the PS4 again, and it would only work in the USB port that I first hooked it up to (WHY???). Then I hooked that controller back up to the PS5 again, and it took some fucking around again to get it to work. I did a firmware update on that one, and that might have helped (but would that help in the future too?).
So now I have two F300's working on my PS5 yet, and I kinda feel like playing it safe and keeping them on the PS5, but it pisses me off that it was my plan to turn my PS4 into sort of an arcade machine and put it in its own little corner of the house.
To add to the concern, I have a Xbox 360 Magicboots on the way, and now I'm kinda scared to use it. I fear that if the Mayflash works on the 360 again, it won't respond to the PS5 or PS4 afterwards. And if it doesn't work on the 360 at all, well then that sucks too.
You would think there would be more results in Google about this but there isn't. Is anyone familiar with this?

Arcade Stick Blues Pt2:
I bought a Brook Super Convereter to use my XBOX 360 SFIV Arcade Stick on my PS4 and PS5 (for PS4 games). I works for about 8 minutes then quits.

Re: Question for Mayflash F300 users (Using your stick on multiple systems)
I'm surprised you didn't have issues on the xbox 360, because the xbox 360 has some weird shit going on controller wise.
I have the f500 elite and in order to get it to work on the xbox 360, I need to switch the controller to the game pad mode, and then I need to plug in a wired xbox 360 controller into the USB port of the stick. It can't be a wireless xbox 360 controller connected through a cable, it has to be the legit cable-only xbox 360 controller. It took way more troubleshooting than I'd like to admit to figure it out
most universal sticks don't appear to work with the xbox 360 natively, but it works pretty flawlessly after you jump through the hoops

I've not run into these issues with it, but I use those little USB dongles they were selling. I just plug in the one for the system I'm going to use it on and it connects just fine. I've not tried it with the PS5 yet, but I have one for the PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

Which dongles, can you be more specific? ThxJohnpv wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 7:51 pm I've not run into these issues with it, but I use those little USB dongles they were selling. It looks like not all of them are still available but maybe they show up on ebay or something. These are the 3 dongles I use. The PS4 (i guess now also PS5) one was much cheaper when I bought it. I think I paid like 15 bucks each for them.Lord British wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 12:36 amWhich dongles, can you be more specific? Ah, the Magicboots is what I'm using for PS4 and 360. You just swap out your dongles when you go back and forth between systems with no issues, right?Johnpv wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 4:20 pmIt looks like not all of them are still available but maybe they show up on ebay or something. Yup. I do make sure I have everything turned off, plug in the new dongle, plug in the arcade stick, and then turn on the console.Lord British wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 4:43 pm Ah, the Magicboots is what I'm using for PS4 and 360. Oh one more thing. When you hook it up the 360 do you have it set to console or XInput? Hilariously, the manual says to use both.Johnpv wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 8:17 pmYup. Re: Question for Mayflash F300 users (Using your stick on multiple systems)
As with the Xbone, in the 360 I hooked up a normal wireless controller to the F300 and it worked the first time, but never again. I do have some wired generic 360 controllers lying around, wonder if that's better. I'll just have to see what happens when my 360 magicboots gets delivered. Fingers crossed.Some-Mist wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 7:01 pm I'm surprised you didn't have issues on the xbox 360, because the xbox 360 has some weird shit going on controller wise.

Re: Question for Mayflash F300 users (Using your stick on multiple systems)
It's been a bit since I last used it on my 360, but I do believe I was setting it to console.Lord British wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 2:21 am Oh one more thing. When you hook it up the 360 do you have it set to console or XInput? Hilariously, the manual says to use both.
Re: Question for Mayflash F300 users (Using your stick on multiple systems)
the f500 elite might be more strict, but for mine to work it needs to be set to console mode (the controller icon) and it absolutely needs the wired 360 controller. I bought wires for my wireless controller, and the LED color would go red but the xbox 360 would not detect the stick. after some back and forth with mayflash, they stressed that it needs to be the wired controller (which is when I said to myself, "are you kidding me?"), so I bought one since I only had wireless controllers that I had just bought cables for, and sure enough my xbox 360 immediately detected the arcade stick

Re: Question for Mayflash F300 users (Using your stick on multiple systems)
Yeah that was why I initially bought the little dongles. I had that same issue with the wireless controller even with the wired adapter. At the time I got the dongle it was a cheaper option than buying a wired controller.

Re: Question for Mayflash F300 users (Using your stick on multiple systems)
I got my 360 Magicboots today and so far no problems. Switched back and forth between PS5 and 360 a few times w/ no issues.
Made a weird discovery though...
For the hell of it I switched out the square restriction gate with the octagonal one. Several minutes of googling will advise you not to use the octagonal gate for anything other than fighting games, and even in that genre some don't advise.
Well, I started playing some fighters and found myself being more comfortable with the octagonal. I usually struggle with dragon punches w/ a stick, but I believe this switch helped greatly.
So here's the weird part. Being told to not even dare try to use the octagonal gate on 4-directional arcade classics like Pac-Man, Rally-X, Frogger, Tutankham, etc. I decided to try them to see how horrible it would be. To my surprise, it works amazingly well. When I bought Pac-Man on Arcade Archives I was let down because I got the usual result in my experience, moving in that maze is slippery and unreliable. Now I play, same joystick but with the gates now switched, and it was smooth as hell with not one fuck up. Tried it with the other games mentioned above (plus Ms. Pac-Man) and they all worked great.
So I know that it sounds like I'm recommending Diet Coke and Mentos for a heartburn remedy, but this is my experience. Try it.
