Hello!
I am currently in need of someone who has experience with video timings and understands how each aspect effects output (front porch, sync width, pixel clock etc)
If you think you can help me by having a chat don't hesitate to contact me!
Thankyou!
Tom

Do you have a specific question? What are you trying to do, what software or hardware are you using?

https://forums.blurbusters.com/ may be a better place to ask this sort of question. There's plenty of talk about custom display modes there.

Download Custom Resolution Utility and just use it's automatic timing options. Test them on your display.
If they work well, copy the timings to your Retrotink or whatever it is you want to have a private chat about (lol)

Let's assume I have a purely hypothetical problem you guys could solve that may or may not be identical to Tom's:
I am trying to make a custom edid to use with Sony MEU and my benq monitor, all standard vesa configs result in a jittery image, I have been able to get a stable image through trial and error but appears to be at 58hz rather than 60
Could you guys please help me, and as a reminder I am definitely not Tom, this is absolutely my problem and I definitely know what all those words mean, a problem which is mine and certainly not Tom's of course. If Tom responds and it helps because he happens to have the exact same issue it's purely coincidental.
Thanks in advance!

This answer is directed at Roo and in no way has anything to do with Tom
But CRU (Custom Resolution Utility) has a lot of various timing presets for various modern monitor standards. I'd just give a lot of those a try.
Also, CRU has a message board I'd look over. ToastyX (the creator) explains what a lot of the various options in CRU are for over there.

I appreciate it! This seems helpful and informative, and if someone else has the same problem (purely coincidentally of course) then I'm sure it will be helpful to them. Whoever they might be.
