Played through briefly the other day on Switch with Green Knight, didn't make it to the last bosses but noticed MAJOR slowdown on stage 3 and the volcano portion of The Gauntlet. Been playing the Steam version a ton recently so it was super noticable. Haven't tried it TATE yet, which might affect it? Not sure.

They are apparently the developers of YXIV//Dezaemon 2 for the Sega Saturn (1997, Cancelled) , as well as a handful of other 2008 games for the Wii...at least that's what it seems from the material that SHMUP Junkie showed a few years ago...and their obsession for the letter Y everywhere...or Z...or X.

Finished up on the Switch, can now confirm that TATE mode doesn't help performance at all. Stages 3, The Gauntlet (Water+Volcano Sections) and 5 are all much slower than the PC version (on Standard mode at least, didn't try Challenging). Seems to be a result of the moving backgrounds, since those are the biggest common feature among those stages. Much easier as a result, and doesn't utterly kill the experience or anything except maybe Triple Eye taking much longer now if you're destroying it safely. Still very much worth $8~10, still lots of fun! Very much looking forward to learning the different ships.

Picked this up on Xbox only £6.71 for the launch period. It’s eye searingly bright alright. Feels like an enhanced version of Neo XYX. Props to Eastasiasoft for releasing this.

Super XYX on the Switch is at fw version: V SWT3 3 7 2024 -- Ver. 1.01 as a 177mb d/l. It's quite colorful, especially on an OLED Switch setup. There's no option for scanlines but if you use an external hdmi-based SLG (Scan Line Generator) device, it's doable/possible.

With either a Flip Grip or Yetomy's 3D-printed Pintendo Flip setup and S-XYX's screen orientation set to 270°, it's awesome to play with proper tate. With a Pintendo Flip, it's possible to recharge the Switch's internal Li-ion battery while in tate (can't do this with a Flip Grip as the usb-c port is blocked off anyways).

These aren't stand-alone games. Blast Works is a port of ABA Games's Tumiki Fighters with an added level editor, which was used for these Wii games. Dezaemon 2 is a shmup game maker.

Thanks for the info!
Now I finally found out who the ABA are, they appeared on a meme here on the forum, but I never found anything about them

Needed to clean the bad taste in my mouth from Raiden Nova and got this on Switch. Wasn't expecting to be beat down so hard right on first stage. I dig it :?
Challenging difficulty is set by default so I assume that's how I should be playing. The game has such a great vibe. Sounds great as well.
I'm one of those that like to use scanlines when done right, would like to have that option here as well specially for Tate.
