I want to like this game, the opening stage is very impressive, but I have a couple of quibbles.
I don't really like how the shield system works and how easy they are to miss, and the visuals are very uneven. Some parts look great, but some other parts, like the shot type that just looks like it's firing the letter Z, look like ass.

Eliminate Down is a fantastic game.
I realise that people will grade the game in part due to its price, but, well, price is besides the point. If the game is decent, then it's decent, price is no indication as to how well made the game is. If anything, we can try it for free now and they've just reproduced it, so for most of us it is affordable to own, to play, well we've been able to play it for years for free.
Personally, I think it's a really good Shmup on the MD.
I actually sometimes get kind of Dead Moon vibes, a Shmup on the PCE that I also quite like.
Myself and a mate of mine both have copies. Sadly, I haven't had the time to actually play it from the start, but I've been playing it for years.
I really like the 1970s' art style on the cover too.
There are lots of decent Shmups on the MD but this one is a bit different, I feel.
Anyway, hope you lot have fun playing it.
