I used to play a lot with a side scroller game I do not know the name of, or even the studio that created it, and I can not find it via google search.
I wonder if you could point me into the right direction.
Here is what I remember from the game:
- It was space themed
- It was going horizontal from left to right, but in some stages the scrolling direction was reversed mid level (e.g. when going around a ginormous green ship mentioned below)
- Normally my ship was shooting right, but I could turn the ship around with a button press, and then it could shoot left
- It had 3 type of shots, but I could have only one at a time: a concentrated big bullet shooting into the direction of the ship, a spread shot of 3 with only a slight spread, and something called "vertical", where I shot up, down, and front a relatively weak shot that visually resembled square brackets
- I could pick up 3 type of "helpers", but I could have only one type at a time: max 2 drones that fly above and below me and shoot into the ship's direction similar to R-Type, 2 drones that are weaker but, but target the closest enemy on their side w/ a blueish shot, and a third type of drone that follows the ship's path in the Gradius way, and shoot in the ship's direction
- The remaining powerups were shield, and speed (that eventually made me too fast, so I took only the first few), and maybe +1 life, but I am not sure in that
- Once I finished all stages, I could have an other go with more enemies from the start, and after finishing the stages the second time, the game is over, and I won.
- I remember one of the bosses (maybe the first one?), which is an elongates slab of a ship that can open like a big flat X, and shoot from the middle while moving around. I had to kill the at least 2 of the X's wings so that they stay open, and then shoot the center of the ship to kill it. Here is my sketch of it: https://pasteboard.co/1J6pSjmQDzMW.png
- In one of the earlier stages I was circling around and destroying a gigantic green ship (this was the whole stage actually) destroying first the top, then the front, then the belly, and at the end the trusters in the back.
- It could be played with 1 or 2 players cooperatively
I am not a regular forum member, but will check back once a day to answer any questions/look at the suggestions.
Thanks in advance for your help!!!
