I just wish they'd be honest. Muttering something vague about an industry slowdown, which as far as I can tell only impacted them - seems legit. At least they gave updates for Turrican, which was delayed by a mix of bugs and feature creep. Nothing substantial for these - maybe stop putting out the gimped ININ versions if it's that much of a struggle??
The "Industry Slowdowns" just mean Layoffs. Took a while for me to figure that out by noticing some of their workplace reviews pointing toward that, but that seems to be what happened.
Dunno why they can't be upfront about it though. Really feels like they're tightening and have little wiggle room and now Dariusburst is confirmed for August/Sept rather than the June/July it used to be, per CS.
It's july 22th, and its still dead silent with the website still not being updated regarding its production status. I am slowly considering to refund the item since its clear that they cannot be trusted and been waiting for +2 years now.
Yeah taito milestones 2 is still a June 24 game despite it being near august and theres been no word on socials besides them insisting to angry customers that there’ll be an update with new release dates “soon”
It’s beyond absurd. By now they gotta just come clean and go into full detail on not making anything in 16 months. Saying “please wait more” won’t cut it due to how silent they are and how aggressively they’ve done discounts this past month. So many sales that it screams “we need money!”
And now the chibi robo spiritual kickstarter thing has them labeled as the physical fulfillment company which of course is having people go to the comments to beg to NOT partner with them because that’s how bad their reputation has been. All because they won’t just be upfront.
It's probably a rather difficult position to be in. If they did come forward with an honest assessment that they are have significant financial troubles, then they would likely then have a large number of people wanting a refund for the remaining pre orders they have, hastening their demise. While staying quiet while desperately seeking addition revenue, at least they don't necessarily go under from the above scenario.
Unfortunately if they fail to succeed in staying afloat, then all us who are (very) patiently waiting are likely left with nothing.
I have been very impressed with their two Darius Cozmic collections, mildly irritated by the delay Turrican had and rather despairing about the RayZ collection (fortunately just bought the standard rather than thebig box this time).
I won't be placing any more orders with them until things start moving again, but will probably hold out a little longer before asking for a refund.

I cut my losses with SLG across the board - they issue refunds promptly so there's that. If they ever release anything I can pick it up on ebay after release; they no longer get any free loans from me. When they do have something in stock they ship quickly and the product has been as expected, but their preorder setup is a travesty. It's clear there is something very wrong at this point between not shipping anything new and their heavy discounting in recent months.
If it was good news, they'd have said something by now - so fully expecting a delay. But right now I'd be more understanding if they were honest - the excuses so far are clearly bullshit, it would have been easier to say they needed to downsize the warehouse space (hence all the sales) and getting that overhead off the books had to take priority.... even if it's not the whole truth, because as stated admitting too many financial problems will just send people to refunds. But to be honest I'm not even convinced it's finances, given they're just a brand of ININ who seem perfectly capable of putting games out - so what gives??
At this point they may as well merge it into ININ and just put out the basic edition games that are popular enough to release to retail - none of this stripped down budget versions or limited numbered runs, just release the damn games. Let someone like Super Rare pick up the niche indie stuff.
I haven't had an issue with them up until this, even the Turrican thing they kept customers updated and the delays were out of their control (developer decided to add stuff rather than simply fix critical bugs). They're silent until it's bad news and the reasons they've put out have been vague nonsense. Oh we've decided not to ship Darius as planned because it's Christmas but we'll do it "soon" - great guys, very clear and definitely not pure insanity.
I can't believe how badly they lied during the initial announcement. This was supposed to be a Q1 2023 release. By the time they get the super special limited edition out, it will probably be two years late in 2025.

I think that's where I'm at with all these companies. At this point I think I might rather pay the $10-15 eBay markup if it's something I genuinely want, rather than wait years to find out I've been scammed. Even if it does come out, multi-year delays feel like a scam of their own.

Decided to finally stop tolerating their shit, so I sent them a request to refund my collector's edition. Hopefully they are going to fulfill it and I get my money back.
At least we have a specific date for the PS4 LE release now. I'm holding out hope that the stating of the actual day (21st August) means we might finally be getting it.

Is that them admitting they didn't have the funds to actually produce what they promised until they "secured additional financing"?

They were actually fucking broke for all this time. What the actual shit.
Also seems their new games will be in-hand and likely meant to pay for the older games to be made… we’ll see how that goes lol
What a clown world we live in. Companies just say the quiet part out loud now without shame (or acknowledging they've been lying to their customers for months). But the real issue is what's actually changed - they got some cash, have a handful of employees and will likely run out of money in 12 months because most people will stop preordering games from them because consumers rightfully have no confidence the games will actually timely ship (or ship at all).
