Collectors truly are an insane bunch at times. I think it would be great if the market was flooded with these boxes. Hell i'm tempted to make my own Cave/AMI stamp and churn them out for the base cost of the box.
Why all the jealousy over collectors? I can only assume it's jealousy, that's the only way the hatred could seem even remotely rational (though not justified). You might as well say an old stamp is a "fucking piece of paper", a classic car is a "fucking piece of metal", or that money is just paper or plastic. Shit dude, it's fucking *history*, and history CANNOT BE DUPLICATED :P Those boxes are not "run of the mill $2.00 brown boxes", they were created for a singlular and highly niche purpose, probably in the space of a few minutes, and have since almost all disappeared. It just so happens that some people highly covet that purpose and that tiny blink of history. If that isn't collector territory, I don't know *what* is.
In short, if you're not a collector, STFU, really :P Posts like yours really make you sound either jealous, or just close-minded. Pray tell, what do you spend your money on, sir? Leave us historians to our museums, and go back to your theme park! By the way, a museum doubles as a theme park after-hours (only without the spew on all the rides).
