I need help finding out what is wrong with my setup.
Description of the system:
Sony KV (BA-4) 20M40 with Component MOD
HDMI to component converter -> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082HT11MH?re ... i+to+compo
PC with Intel UHD 620
The goal is to run Retroarch and get it on the CRT at 240p.
I used CRU to create a resolution of 2560x240 @60HZ and I can select it for the second display.
Problem is, it does not show a stable image, it is warped to the right with some artifacts. - The colors seem to be correct, I can see my desktop and it looks right but it is far from stable.
There's a pretty good chance that you don't get a 15khz output from your GPU *although* CRU is showing you that resolution. There's a good reason why external downscaling is a thing. Most GPUs and most definitely all IGP just aren't able to output 15khz.

That maybe the case but I've seen a lot of ppl using the Intel graphics command center to change the resolution manually and make it work with CRTs, I'm sure they are all using IGPs.
I will probably get my oscilloscope and take a look at the signal and make sure it's 15kHz.
Thanks for the help! Any other comments are welcome.
If there's no follow up, readers should assume the card does not output 240p, despite what CRU reports.
Reddit isn't a great place to get information about niche subjects. It's like trying to drink from a fire hose. There's too many threads to follow and too many users chiming in. People that could answer your question won't see your thread and there's a flood of misinformation sitting alongside the proper answer. You also can get a flood of downvotes from a crowd of people that are straight up wrong about game hardware and upscaling.
Hello, Orange
The card does output 240 I just don’t know if at the correct frequency.
Im traveling so was not able to verify, when back home I will look with an oscilloscope and post the results.
Thanks!
