cool , its a really good idea actuallyzak wrote:I don't make them personallyI'm trying to get a few atlus boxes made at the moment. I don't see how an exact replica of a cardboard box could be worth any less than an original. As soon as I hear anything from the box maker, I'll post here.
but i suppose it might cause problems if people are selling complete kits and saying there original when there not.
Well im definitly interested , just so they look neater , rather than having loose PCB's hanging around

I think it would be wrong if you were going to replicate the artwork. This is a card board box with a bit of black ink.Trevor spencer wrote:cool , its a really good idea actuallyzak wrote:I don't make them personallyI'm trying to get a few atlus boxes made at the moment. Hey Trevor! I think it is possible to get ahold of those much sought after boxes on their own, but they rarely appear many places by themselves. I totally understand wanting a box (I'd love to get one for my Dai-Ou-Jou, but I do have one for my ESPGaluda). Plus, the Trading Section on this site is decently helpful, there's some links somewhere that could help. Well, good luck. Let us know how the search goes.

I'm w/ you Trevor. All my newer kits have boxes, but the old Atlus boards are wrapped up in bubblewrap... all naked, and embarrased. Anyways, if you want one of the newer ones, the only really way to do it is to get an Ibara or Galuda kit, and sell everything else.
Zak... if you get the Atlus boxes done, will you be getting a few others made?

WTF? Personally speaking a replica box would be worthless to me. Why not go one better and make a nicer design shockbox style if you just want something for storage.
If someone does make some replicas I would suggest some marking to make it obvious that is is a replica, to stop people paying complete kit money by mistake.

Seems to me that none of the parties here interested ever sell their Cave stuff anyway....umi wrote:It's either original, or it isn't... why go through all the trouble? I mean, it might look a bit nicer, but a counterfeit box will still be completely worthless(unless you scam someone).

i understand its worthless and maybe a little ZAK mark on the box would be a good idea
But if there cheap enough i cant see the problem , a brend new replica for say £5.00 or a crushed up torn original for £100
I can understand both arguements though

I think the real problem as illustrated above, is crazy people who will pay 100 for a box. It's a strange sickness in arcade collecting and playing, which is very recent. It never used to be like that, and Guwange used to cost around $90, and change hands requently. Sadly it seems a number of new collectors have fixated on Cave games, ownership for status, and are turning things upside down as happened to some Neo Geo titles.Trevor spencer wrote:i understand its worthless and maybe a little ZAK mark on the box would be a good idea

Something is worth what someone will pay for it. I think it's pretty obvious that there are more arcade collectors now than there were a few years ago. Could be for any host of reasons, but it's obviosly apparent. When demand goes up, we know what happens to the price.
Just b/c someone pays $100 for a box does not make them crazier. Certainly there are far more outlandish things on the internet than $100 box buying.

You don't care about collecting, do you raiden? I wonder, do you take good care of your stuff? Or maybe you just own bootlegs. Cool.raiden wrote:spine cards and pcb boxes are garbage, just like shrinkwrap foil. I´ve met people who would collect empty cans of coke, but at least they wouldn´t pay $100 for one.
