BVM problem - white breaks into RGB

So this is what I'm seeing on my new purchase, the BVM-14F1.



There appears to be a narrow band on the top where white breaks down into red, green and blue.

Is there a setting that I'm missing or is my baby going to need a repair? And if so, do you think this is something that can be fixed easily?

Also, the input is Radeon > VGA to RGB cable > BVM

After some reading, it appears to be a yoke problem and I need to shift it.

Looks like typical convergence misalignment. You should have both static, top and bottom convergence settings the menu. However with the deviations being so far up, you may have to make internal adjustments just so you don't move the issues to another part of the screen.

If you disable the green gun you'll more clearly see where the deviations are.

EDIT: And to be fair, it seems like your image is underscanned. I suggest aiming for a slight bit of overscan as it usually hides artifacts in along the borders and also utilizing the entire screen size.

Try the menu settings first before messing with the yoke. That model should have an adjustment for that specific type of misconvergence - it doesn't look like a yoke issue to me.

5 minutes in settings made everything perfect again.

Having circuitry to adjust vertical convergence like that is fantastic.
