I'm glad they were able to get the permission for Cotton back for Final, I'll probably buy the port now. I've played a bit of the Steam release but got my copy for free, so I don't mind getting the game again, especially since I'll be able to play it on my bing bing machine. I just hope they eventually get around to making Episode 2.

Well, if Siesta remembered it existed and not being just vaporware. But yeah, at least its good that they brought Cotton back, still pricey as she is. (But broken and busted, lol.)StarLightMoonLight wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2024 6:09 pm I'm glad they were able to get the permission for Cotton back for Final, I'll probably buy the port now. This game is rad. Good to see it will get more exposure with an English audience now!

For anyone on the fence, don’t let the iffy art style fool you, this game rules.

TW Final will be out on 11/27/25 (unless otherwise) in English (NA/PAL). It'll be on the currently updated version that includes Boss Attack mode (8 gameplay modes, online co-op mode has yet to be added), and additional character Remiel (for up to 12 playable characters, 13 with Cotton).
A special edition is available exclusively on Inin Games Store that includes a nicely designed box with an artbook, soundtrack, and the game itself, with a product code for Cotton (which is only on the SE, it seems, Cotton will still be DLC for those that bought the game outside the SE).

This is such a fantastic game. Maybe one day I'll pay the second hand tax and pick up some choice physical releases.

Quick update on the English release, the release was supposedly scheduled for Summer, then had a date for 9/30/25. And now, it has been delayed to 11/27/25 (shown on the E-shop) and Q4 2025 (on the physical release).
Physical is $50, while the digital release (shown on the E-shop) is $30 with Cotton as DLC for $5 (included in the physical Special Edition).
---
Also, the PS5 port, subtitled Trouble Witches Final: Last End, is scheduled for release in JP on 10/23/25.

This game was $10 brand new as a super enhanced port/remake back in 2011 on XBLA. $30 for digital or $50 for physical? Get out of here…

It's so incredibly frustrating to see see what Studio Siesta is. Trouble Witches was one of the first doujin shmups to break out (it got an arcade release which was pretty wild), there was a planned episode 2, and two decades later they just rerelease TW1 and make garish Cotton games.
I'm surprised they haven't found their way to an Exa version.

Its the same shit with the current gen ports of Triggerheart Exelica these days, ironically, it was also a $10 XBLA game, buts it costs more on other platforms. Times have sure changed for the worse, pricing wise. (There's always sales, but still...)To Far Away Times wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 3:19 am This game was $10 brand new as a super enhanced port/remake back in 2011 on XBLA. $30 for digital or $50 for physical? And yeah, I liked the XBLA version more better art style wise, than whatever the current versions' artstyle is.
Meanwhile, Cotton has one (Rock and Roll), but not Trouble Witches. It has a Nesica version, but that's it. And yeah, its history is really nonsensical to the point Episode 2 is completely vaporware, and that they're milking Episode 1 dry.CStarFlare wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 6:19 pm It's so incredibly frustrating to see what Studio Siesta is. I remember that Studio Siesta was planning to localize Trouble Witches as The Tomboyish Witches at one point, complete with Engrish text.

Followed by a switch 2 version called “final 2” to troll r-type fans.BulletMagnet wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 2:10 amNeoStrayCat wrote: ↑Fri Sep 26, 2025 8:22 pmTrouble Witches Final: Last End, That's It, No More, Finished, Done, Kaputz, Terminated, Seriously Folks We're Not Making Another One, Ever, Pinky Swear
No, you can’t upgrade from the switch version. It’s proud nordics all over again!

Re: Trouble Witches Origin! (PC/Steam) / Final! (PS/NS)
Another quick update, the PS5 version of Final - Last End on PS5 (currently, import only either via physical/digital) has since been released with some additional features (like a new mode which takes advantage of the game's scoring mechanics tenfold, and some beginner features with auto magic card and auto magic barrier.)
And a hopefully "Final" release date on the overseas release with a date of 12/15/25.
---
Update (12/10/25): The physical PAL special edition has been released on the Inin store on 12/9/25, with the digital overseas version now released on 12/15/25.

On the USA region Switch eShip, portal, Trouble Witches Final appeared on 12/15/2025 with a 10% off discount making it $27.99 instead of it's usual MSRP of $29.99. It's a 3gb digital d/l at best.

I do love the trend of taking relatively cheap games on XBLA and doubling or tripling the price years later for recent ports.

Yeah, I've already brought it up previously, and its real silly. But what these companies want these days, is profits. I mean, yes, sales/discounts will happen every now and then, but oh well.To Far Away Times wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 6:52 pm I do love the trend of taking relatively cheap games on XBLA and doubling or tripling the price years later for recent ports.

I didn't realize that the Inin Store was based out of Germany and assumed that they had a USA subsidairy store branch -- apparently, that isn't the case in this particular instance.
Their address is listed as follows:
United Games Entertainment GMBH
Zementstr. 14
Kirchheim Unter Teck, BW 73230
DE
My Special Edition set of "Trouble Witches Final" Nintendo Switch variant version finally arrived today, 12/23/2025, via Fedex Express delivery shipping method -- about a 7 day delivery stint from the time it was initially dispatched on 12/17/2025 according to Fedex themselves (given the crazy last minute "mad rush" Christmas shipping routes this year) -- it's business as usual with UPS, Fedex & DHL with their international shipping routes.

So is there any difference between the Steam release with all DLC and the recent Switch release? I did get the Steam version plus DLC for the sale and I am wondering if I am missing out on anything.

Actually I have the same question, the Steam version is currently on sale for EUR 3, while Switch's retail and digital version are listed at EUR 30.
Are there any changes to this "FInal" version that could justify the current x10 price difference?

Graphically, it uses the 3D polygon assets from trouble witches Neo, even when playing AC mode.
Someone else could prolly explain the gameplay changes better than I can though.
Steam version also has DRM, but there exists a physical release of origin that gets cotton for free or something by patches on the official website. It’s been awhile since I last checked.

Re: Trouble Witches Origin! (PC/Steam) / Final! (PS/NS)
It's well known that "Trouble Witches AC" variant release runs on the Nesica-X Live arcade platform when it made it's grand debut in the Japanese game centers. It's quite nice that Studio Siesta to include it in both the "Trouble Witches Origin" and "Trouble Witches Final" (circa 12/2025) releases.
