According to what I've read it's a Cube-exclusive. Is it very comfortable, or is it more of a novelty, like the Slime controller for Dragon Quest VIII? I noticed the analog stick on it (someone PLEASE tell me this collection doesn't require analog on the Cube!).
Any Cube owners have this special controller?...

The 411 on Nuby produced L.E. GCN Mega Man controller...
For dave4shmups,
You can pick up that same GCN speciality controller brand new at your local Gamestop for a mere $24.99-$29.99 USD. So really, there's no need to pay the asking price of that eBay seller, gothaveitnow83, forty smackers. FYI, Nuby in conjunction with Nintendo came up with that particular GCN controller. ^_~
IIRC, there was a limited edition Nuby produced Sonic controller produced for the PS2 console as well with the same price & similar packaging but with black & red colored scheme. ^_~
PC Engine Fan X! ^_~

So, can you just use the Game Boy Controller for the Mega Man X Collection, or do you have to have analog.

I have used the Hori digital controller with the Megaman X Collection and it worked fine, except the face button layout still sucks.dave4shmups wrote:So, can you just use the Game Boy Controller for the Mega Man X Collection, or do you have to have analog.
I actually played through all the games on the disc with 3 other buddies, and not a single one of us chose the Hori controller over a DualShock2 run through a controller adaptor. The diamond face button layout still wins.

Ok, thanks for the info! Yeah, as much as I like that Hori Controller, I just don't care for the button layout on either that, or the stock Cube controller. I don't know who at Nintendo came up with that button layout; maybe someone who was inspired by spots on their car windshield!iatneH wrote:I have used the Hori digital controller with the Megaman X Collection and it worked fine, except the face button layout still sucks.dave4shmups wrote:So, can you just use the Game Boy Controller for the Mega Man X Collection, or do you have to have analog.

Plue the fact that Hori decided to go with those "ridges" on the bottom of the controller-the SNES controller was flat on the bottom, and the Hori controller often leaves my hands feeling sore.
Still, the D-Pad is much better, IMO, then the Dualshock2's. And it's quite a shame that Sony won't be giving consumers a better D-Pad with the PS3.

I still recommend using a DualShock for the Megaman X Collection. A controller adaptor should only cost you $10 or so. Plus, you'll be able to use it for other games, including ones that require analogue control.
Luckily, there isn't much need for diagonal presses in any of the MMX games, so the DualShock will work fine.
Personally, I don't find the SNES/Hori pad D-pad to be all that comfortable either.
