Today, I want inform you about our new classic arcade game in style of Mercs, Ikari Warrirors or Commando C64/Amiga.
We are one of the few indie developers who want to keep arcade gaming and shot'em ups alive and are doing our best.

Squid Commando is an action-packed, classic arcade run & gun game that can be played solo or in co-op.

Travel back in time and rediscover the classic arcade shoot-'em-up with a great comic-style look!

Squid Commando is an arcade shoot-'em-up game in which you have to fight alone or in pairs in co-op mode, against the whole army of General Darken. You can choose from three characters with different weapons as you shoot down swarms of enemies through five different levels.

Non-Stop Action!
Whether a rafting trip in a river, driving with tanks, arming turrets.... Here you can shoot and destroy almost anything! Collect many different power-ups and upgrade your weapons!
Save as many prisoners as possible and travel from one mission to another! But Attention: Watch out for dangerous alligators when you are in the water.

The trailer has people just walking straight into enemy bullets in every scene.

No offense, but I think your game is broken… You move very slow, enemy patterns get ridiculously cheap in later levels, the missions are long, and for some reason, you stand in place whenever you reload or throw a grenade, leaving you vulnerable to enemy attacks. It has very long load times also.

Sorry for the late reply. The player who moves the fastest is the woman, then the soldier, then the fat boy. The loading time is only long when you start the first mission, then the next levels will be loaded very fast. When reloading, you will be warned in advance when your ammo is running low and you will have to choose the best time and place to reload by using the reload button (or automatically when empty).
The game is inspired by Ikari Warriors and Commando Game, I have tried to use same enemy attack scheme and same sound fxs when they throw grenades. Some enemy soldiers in later levels dont stop and is hard to kill.

You can unlock all levels by using a similar Konami cheat code: Retro feeling ^^
Go to player select menu, then press:
3x up
3x down
3x left
1x right
X Button (Nintendo) or (Y Xbox Controller) or (E Key) to Confirm
When success, you will see a skull on the top right of the display.

With an update I can make some changes to the game.
As said, we want only make retro easy arcade games, not AAA Games. We don't have the resources for making a big game. Our goal is keeping Arcade Games alive.
