i wouldn't hold your breath for that one if i were you - earlier this week play.com were showing the release date as being today, then it got pushed back by 2 weeks. The same thing has happened several times now, the original release date was some time in March i think. Still, these Psikyo releases are quality conversions at fine prices, so it's worth the wait.

I preordered it today, along with Raiden 3 and Homura. I'm keeping those fingers crossed for tate, it seems likely given that the Gunbird and Strikers ports supported it.

Game Street 505 seem to know what they are doing. Out of all the budget publishers I would proberbly trust them the most. Notice that a lot of their titles are comming out on the 23rd so it apears that they are doing this in a "wave" so to speak. (Homura and some other space adventure game are getting released on the same day!)

In any case they have done decent ports of Guilty Gear Iskua and Grafitti Kingdom so I have every faith that these will also turn out fine since Game Street 505 aim their titles at the hardcore gamer demographic and we all know who fussy they are! ;)

p.s: Samurai Aces had 60hrz and Tate while Gigawing Generatons only had 60hrz but I think thats due to it being a Yoko based vertical shooter anyway. (I could be wrong of course!)

Methinks you're half right...GWG was originally a tate-oriented shooter, but the original JP release, unfortunately, didn't have tate either, so the PAL region got pretty much the same thing as Japan did.

Yeah, it's nice to see they are doing decent covers, even though it's a budget release. Too bad it's PAL. Still, I hope the game does well and makes them some money. They deserve it.

In America they do shit like deface Suzuki's AMAZING Ikaruga piece by putting a flying 3d PROTRACTOR in place of the Ikaruga. I would punch the person who made that decision.

Brilliant stuff. I'm buying two copies - one for myself, and one for a recently converted mate.

am i right in saying that these shmups are the same ports as the ones released in japan but with just different languages?
i say this as they seem to be good ports apart from gwg which is the same as the japanese version.

WTF? I thought the Cube cover was one of the paintings we see in the Omake folder of the DC release.

Hm - I agree. The ridiculous IGN quote is a downer, but what really spoils a perfectly good cover is the way a child has thrown a tantrum and scrawled all over it. For shame.

Hmm, I must not have the Drawn by Bobby edition. I hear it's really rare!

The Dragon Blaze release seems to have been put back to 30/06/2006. Only about the 50th time it's been delayed. Homura's still on for the 23rd but play.com havn't sent me a comformation of postage yet which leads me to believe that it's been delayed too.

Haha it looks damn awful and incredibly stupid - the stupid quotes from videogame magazines are always terrible.
Alas, Ikaruga is going...

Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?

That's a shame. You'll definitely want to play this in tate. My favorite shmup. Period. Haven't played it in a while-- I bet I'd suck terribly at it right now.
