Yeah, I have a MiSTer already and love it, but I also love using my original hardware and would prefer having a direct digital connection when I use a flatscreen.
Don't want to pay extra for a buggy ODE or be limited to 720p output though.

An Analogue Duo would be your best choice then. It will allow you to use all of your og games, and accessories, but get you a direct digital connection that supports 1080p.
Re: Upergrafx "UGX-02" - TG16/PCE DVI Upscaler w/SD CDROM2
Not a fan of Analogue for various reasons, one of them being no 240p support without buying their DAC. Plus I doubt the Duo will be as versatile as the MiSTer core, other than being able to directly use original media.

That proprietary DAC is so fuckin' stupid. It would be pretty cool if they made it compatible with any & all devices, would be nice for use with MiSTer direct video / 240p via CRU, CRT Emudriver, etc from a PC. I like how they implement S-Video and composite output from the VGA port via non-standard pinout & those Monoprice VGA to Svid/composite cables (made for very specific old graphics cards) you can get on Amazon.

These things.

Wow, I didn't expect to see any more posts in this thread.Elrinth wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 12:10 pm Hi!
I know this is an ancient thread. But this needs to be posted:
1) The website is gone (there is a snapshot in wayback machine from february 2023: https://web.archive.org/web/20230206131 ... om/home_en )
2) The more important "howtouse"-page seems to still be okay: http://howtouse.upergrafx.com/ which has the latest firmware and software programs.
2) I made a tool in 2020 called UperGrafx-Companion which can go thru your library of cd games and hu-card games and "fix them" to work on the UperGrafX in bulk recursively in folders. https://github.com/Elrinth/UperGrafX-Companion
That's pretty much it... Oh and yeah, this device was made pretty much obsolete by the Super HD System Pro 3: https://shop.terraonion.com/shop/produc ... 3-pro/view .
I had no idea the main site was taken offline, it's been a couple months since I last spoke with the creator, but I can ask him about it if anyone is still interested.
In the meantime, some of the English sections of the site are still online:

Neat tool you made btw.

Beep is accepting pre-orders for the latest Upergrafx unit (UGX-D2) to be shipped sometime in July of 2025: https://channel.beep-shop.com/products/detail/71084
It has a 44,980 yen retail price tag (which is $309.71 usd on today's 6/17/25 current exchange rate according to xe.com) making it a premium piece of PCE compatible hardware add-on as it is. You can use an DVI-D to HDMI adapter setup considering that there's just a dedicated DVI-D output port at best on the latest Upergrafx unit itself.

In 2025, with only RGB palette output, and forced 720p output only, it is trash.

It's not a new model, it's just the same product in a new 3D printed case. The price is terrible for a graphics option (there are much better and cheaper solutions). For an ODE, the price isn't that insane, compared to combining a turbo everdrive with an OSSC or something. But there are way better options for video these days.

Even only considering the ODE aspect, it is a terrible option as you have to convert image files in a particular way, rather than simply being able to drop available image files onto an SD card. Plus no reliable record of compatibility and accuracy testing by a large enough user base, and seemingly no open way to reach out to the dev for support and bug fixes.Guspaz wrote: ↑Wed Jun 18, 2025 11:11 pm It's not a new model, it's just the same product in a new 3D printed case. Kind of surprising that no one like PixelFX has done a non-ODE HDMI adapter yet (other than the Columbus Circle one that just converts analog to digital). I'd assume it would sell fairly well, considering no modding would be necessary.
