hello! i got myself recently an Sony Wega 34" HDCRT with SFP tube. it is KV-HR34M91 which is designated for ASIA/ME market. it doesn't have any HDPT option in the service menu. i'm desperately trying to figure out how to feed in 720x540p in order to avoid internal processing. also the image looks horrible when i feed native 1080i in it. i have on my disposal Kramer VP-729 which is capable of custom resolution output. i've tried all CVT timings but still no luck. this TV also features RGB HV input trough second HD component in. can someone help me figure out what i'm doing wrong?
here are parameter descriptions from VP-729 user manual
Many, if not most, Sony HDCRT TVs will only accept 540p through the analog (component/VGA/DVI) input. No amount of tweaking will make it work on the HDMI port of these models.

my TV doesn't feature any digital input, it has totally different chassis than US XBR and HS models. it doesn't feature any additional RGB/YUV switches in order to allow bypassing DRC-MF+MID circuitry. i'm really thinking of hijacking MID-out signals and feed 33.7KHZ RGBHV directly from my scaler. the only problem with that is his mass. 85 kilos is no joke. i tried all sort of timings with no success. it accepts 960x600p@60 but that is not 33.7khz.
