That game over scream is easily the worst thing about the game. Way to pick one of the most sampled clips ever, Cave. It's on every Halloween sound effects tape and was used in the opening of Nickelodeon's Real Monsters, among many others. So very lame.SuperPang wrote:I only just noticed it wasn't me making the game over screen noiseiatneH wrote:I love Ketsui too, but unfortunately the feeling is not mutual. In the sound test you can hear that they had the female announcer just say "GAME OVER". It should have been left like that.NTSC-J wrote:That game over scream is easily the worst thing about the game. I have never played Ketsui and most likely never will, but I know that scream, it's a classic! At one point my brother and I were compiling a list of films/shows that used it. Best one that stands out in my mind is some henchman falling off a bridge in that awful John Travolta/Christian Slater film about nuclear weapons: DUUUURRAAAAAEEEUUAAAEEEUUUGGGH!NTSC-J wrote:That game over scream is easily the worst thing about the game. THAT scream is in the game? That settles it, I HAVE to play this now! Leave it to Cave to pile on the cheese!NTSC-J wrote:It's on every Halloween sound effects tape and was used in the opening of Nickelodeon's Real Monsters, among many others. So very lame.
If/when the thing is playable in MAME, I wonder if someone would be able to somehow hack the ROM to include the skipping record sfx and Krumm's chuckle after the scream.
EDIT: Heck, maybe they could make it play The Gromble saying "Good morning, my little pustules!" when you insert a credit, or even the full "Me and My Fungus" song during the end credits...

What? Instead of a 'super-dramatic' death scream? I think it sounds better with the death scream to be honest, at least you can tell who just got creamed by the game in the arcades. ^_-Valgar wrote:In the sound test you can hear that they had the female announcer just say "GAME OVER".
