Quick Star Soldier PSP question
Can the TATE fire/bomb controls be set to the analog nub instead of the L/R trigger or face buttons? The answer to this will have a big bearing on whether or not I buy it. And is it a decent enough sequel for the series?

The controls can be customized, but I doubt that anything other than movement can be applied to the nub. The nub is your best bet for controlling your ship anyway imo; it's more fluid than the d-pad.
The special (each ship has a different one) works well right next to the fire button. I use X for fire and O for the special; I believe that's the default. It works well this way. You can roll your thumb over to the bullet cancelling special quickly.
And it's more of a remake than a sequel, right?
I do recommend this game. The music is good, the bosses are cool, though it is a bit on the easy side no matter what difficulty you put it on (one ship's special is a large laser that not only decimates everything on the screen, but cancels bullets and can be used often.)
The final boss can be quite a bitch depending on what ship you're using.

if you dont have a vert shmup for the psp buy it to get a feeling on how they work on the psp but be warned, the controls are a pain if you want to play longer than five minutes.
if you want to buy it because of the game get the gamecube version which has nealy the same content exept for the two exta ships and a little more detailled graphic. but more important its good playable!
