what are the chances the screen is used rather than new? (as in, what are the chances the vendor are selling somewhat used screens as new, rather than fully new?)

So I bought this portable Johnwill monitor on aliexpress, it uses a 1920x1200 screen.

I presume the screen is IPS as I can move around my POV horizontally and vertically and colors don't shift.

I ran retroarch at the panels native resolution and ran stuff like 240p test suite, donkey kong country, super mario world. I checked around and colors look good to me, and blacks look good. Brightness looks good to me, and it does seem new to my non-specialist eyes, I see no problems in brightness. Image looks good in general.

The screen does have a couple dead pixels, which I can see using whole-screen-same-color type of test pattern with my eyes 30cm away. There are also some other tiny imperfections I can if I stick my face to the screen.

I can only see these in test screens, in usage these defects look undetectable.

I presume the screen uses a MIPI interface as the controller board has a board plugged to controller board and from this it goes into the scren, and through some googling Googling discovered it is a LVDS to MIPI converter board. (didn't even know this MIPI thing existed). This converter board seem unavailable for purchase in a single unit, which is kind of bad.

With that in mind,

what are the chances the screen is used rather than new? (as in, what are the chances the vendor are selling somewhat used screens as new, rather than fully new?) (You can also post anything you think is relevant).

I'm asking because I need to buy another one portable monitor and am considering getting either another of this or maybe a different one suggested, or even a DIY one, but would rather buy than DIY, as I don't have the time to study the project much now.

Open it up and if you find double sided tape residue on the back of the screen its been reused.
Most if not all of the sellers there do that, especially with the iPad 3/4 screens. All seconds.
Have to grab an A Grade screen by itself from a reputable seller and even then some will have tinted blacks.

hey there, thanks for responding.

I opened the screen and there is no obvious tape residue visible. (didn't remove the black tape and "cloth" on the edges, but there isn't anything visible)
