Weird problem with OSSC

Post by Raniel-Atero »

I've just got my hands on OSSC and i've got a weird problem - while i 'm running PAL software on PlayStation 1/2, MegaDrive or SNES - everything is perfectly fine.
But as soon as i try to run NTSC game on any of these consoles i getting colour swap - Red is swapped with Blue, while Green is intact.

Any clue what could it be - is it a hardware fault or i was too lucky to get strange software bug?
P.S. i already updated OSSC firmware to the latest 0.90 and resetted it's settings to default - nothing changed so far.

Well, long story short - i've found a root of this problem.
First things first - i've connected OSSC through my Pioneer SC-LX86 AV receiver. Inside it does have a hardware upscaler/deinterlacer Marvell® 88DE2750 chip.
And if SC-LX86 internal scaler is turned ON then effect i described before would happen. As soon as i turn 88DE2750 OFF - everything works perfectly fine.
It happens on any HDMI port that can use 88DE2750. But if, for example, i'll connect to the same HDMI input, say, a DVD player and play PAL or NTSC disc through HDMI with upscaler turned ON - colours are transmitted as they should be.

Yeah I've had the same issue before and completely forgot how I fixed it. Thanks for putting it in writing!

That reminds me of the issue you get running NTSC games on a (softmodded) PAL Wii using the official RGB Scart cable.
