We are pleased to announce that, after the warm welcome and expectations from the first edition, we are putting together the II A.R.C.A.D.E. SHMUPFEST later this year, on Saturday, 21st October, at A.R.C.A.D.E. premises in Cornellà, Barcelona, Spain.
Several activities and tournaments during the day will take place, like:
- - Mini league on 6 shmups spanning different eras, styles, and orientations.
- - 1vs1 Twinkle Star Sprites tournament
- - Highscore tournament on DARIUSBURST AC EX composed of 4 member squads.

There will also be a selection of other shmup games in the freeplay zone during the whole event. It will be the place for everyone to enjoy at their own pace and without any pressure, no matter the level.
This event aims all kinds of players, not only pros. The core idea is to bring the opportunity to hang out with other lovers of the genre, and foster the growth of the community in an arcade-like environment, face-to-face and playing next to each other like in the old days. This is a celebration for the genre.
Last but not least, we can also confirm a new addition to this SHMUPFEST: a Friday evening get-together pre-event on October, 20th. It will be the time to warm up for the big day by playing the shmups prepared for the event, and to just socialize. In addition to this, more activities such as Kumites and Exhibitions of several games will take place. The precise program is being defined at this time, and we will announce more details as soon as we can confirm each exhibition.
Registering for the event is 24 €. This fee includes access to our premises on both the pre-event on Friday and the main event on Saturday. It also includes Saturday lunch. There is also the option to buy a commemorative t-shirt for just 15€. Check its design below. And more to come!

#LaNau, the event venue, is well connected by public transport. Both the Gavarra metro station (L5 line) and the FGC Almeda train station are a 5-8 minute walk away. If you come by car, exit 15 of the Barcelona Ring Road is just over 1 km away. If you opt for the private jet, Barcelona airport is 11 km from #LaNau.
