Is the firmware upgrade process identical for all GBSC units

I have bought a GBSC off aliexpress and I am planning to buy another one.

How do I upgrade the firmware on these ? is the upgrade process the same as any other GBSC unit ?

or should I contact the maker of the GBSC and ask him ?

Connect a usb cable from computer to esp. Update via arduino IDE. Make sure the gbs unit is powered first. If the maker somehow modified the esp so that a usb cable cant be connected to it, then theres probably no other way.
