Buttons cutting out during play.

Post by Stevens »

A few years back I built a stick with a PS360+ board. It worked pretty well at the time. In the interim I upgraded to an Asus laptop.

Playing the SF6 beta a few weeks back I noticed that HP and HK were cutting out on me during matches. Exiting/returning to full screen would bring them back.

I figured it was the board so I bought a Brooks PS3/4/5/PC board.

It's still happening during sessions of SF6. I have seemingly tried everything. Messed with the Steam control configs, tried different USB ports, deleted profiles for other controllers, and even uninstalled reWASD.

Firmware and drivers are up to date. I know this is a first world issue, but it is incredibly frustrating.

I'm running Windows 10, Bitdefender is my anti virus (have it set to game mode).

Seriously if you can help me get my stick working proper I'll fucking gift you a $15 Steam game of your choice.
You're sure to be in a fine haze about now, but don't think too hard about all of this. Just go out and kill a few beasts. It's for your own good. You know, it's just what hunters do! You'll get used to it.

I presume this only happens with SF6?

How frustrating. Sounds to me like Steam is losing focus somehow. Maybe installing Power Toys can help you to keep it always on top? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windo ... ays-on-top

Disclaimer. I haven't tried this Microsoft product myself.

Interesting. I might give it a try. Thanks!

Yeah. Haven't tried it with anything else.

Have you tried uninstalling reWASD? SF6 supports that PCB just fine without it.

Even if that isn't a direct fix, fewer points for things to go wrong will make diagnosing the issue easier.

FIXED.

Feeling a little stupid as sometimes the easiest solution..

Was playing last night and finally noticed that it was only happening after I used my drive impact short cut.

I opened the controller settings in steam and pressed the button, and it stayed down. It was sticking. That's why I would lose hp and hk - they were still registering.

Button replaced. Fighting resumes. Thanks for the help all.
