Protocorgi

Post by Nahar »

Nice looking cute'em up just released on steam. The price tag is not that high, has practice modes and many sub-weapons. I played the demo yesterday and it sits on the easy side. Looks inspired by Magical Chase and AirZonk.

I had watched a Japanese stream of this earlier today. Its very nice looking but unfortunately it seemed to have an extremely slow pace with lots of gaps in the action.

Perhaps I'm off base though and there are higher difficulties that ramp the gameplay up a notch? Also to be fair I only saw the 1st stage and boss being played.

EDIT: Higher difficulties solve the issue. It's actually pretty challenging. There is a crash after 1st boss unfortunately though :(

Yeah, I concur. The crash after the 1st boss needs a fix ASAP. Someone opened a discussion on the steam forums about this yesterday and we told the devs about the crash, but still haven't got a response.

The crash has something to do with the Steam achievements. After you fight the 1st boss the rest of playthroughs seem ok.

I picked this up a couple days ago and experienced that same crash, but the dev just released a patch and it's now fixed for me.

Hello,

I'm one of the developers of ProtoCorgi. This project has been a long journey for our team, and we even shared a demo here back in 2016!. It's increible to see how far we've come and as you noticed the game has been released on June 15th.

I will address some Questions about the game:
The crashes have been fixed on Sunday 18th. For more details, you can visit:
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app ... 1108559394
ProtoCorgi is available for Steam, Nintendo Switch and Epic Store for $6.99 USD.
Here is a link with all the stores where the game is available: http://www.protocorgi.com/
The game has been tested on Windows, Nintendo Switch, Linux, Steam Deck and a CRT at 240p.
Here is the release trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fy7PCRob8XU
If you enjoyed the game, don't forget to join our discord to stay updated on what we are working on in the next patches:
http://discord.protocorgi.com/

The game effectively can be VERY hard in later difficulties, the difficulty changes the bullet speed, patterns, enemy placement and level design, as explained here:
https://twitter.com/_Hearto_/status/1665718005932670977

Here are the Key Features of the game:
  • Arcade Retro Shmup action.
  • 5 Levels with multiple secrets paths.
  • 3 Unlockables Abilities.
  • 9 Difficulty modes.
  • 27 Weapon combinations.
  • Online Leaderboards.
  • ProtoCorgi Maker Level Editor with Online Level Sharing and Leaderboards.
  • Bark customization.
  • Localization in multiple languages.
  • Cloud Saves, Achievements, Trading Cards, Backgrounds, Avatars and Stickers if supported by the platform.
  • Hat Modding Support*.
*Hat Modding Support was Initially an exclusive feature in the PC Closed ProtoCorgiStreamerVersion, designed to customize the build for streamers, we didn't want this feature to go to waste. Therefore, we have incorporated it into the full game, allowing you to modify Bullet with your favorite hat. Because this feature was used internally by us for customize the build for the streamers, the implementation is very rough, but in short place a PNG file in a predetermined path within your save folder, and the image will appear on top of Bullet!.

We have prepared detailed instructions to use this feature for PC, please refer to the following link:
