HDMI to component recommended devices on BVM D24?(no hdfury)
HDMI to component recommended devices on BVM D24?(no hdfury)
I’m looking for a good hardware solution to convert my hdmi sources to component, I own an HDFury3 that has caused me a lot of trouble. The Hdfury seems to be shorting or something, whenever it’s on it keeps “restarting” and the LED lights are blinking over and over, on top of this, the hdmi cables I’ve used on it both went bad and stopped functioning even when used with other devices. Also I believe it damaged one of the outputs of my crosspoint matrix switcher. It only sends noise to the monitors on both RGB and component. Obviously I’m afraid if it damaging my monitors so I will not be using it again. I want to avoid using SDI but if it has to be it I’ll do it. Any and all suggestions are welcome, thank you.

There's probably more options for HDMI to VGA adapters, you could use one of those in combination with an Extron to convert RGBHV to RGBS.

Were you using USB power with your HD Fury 3? It will try to get power form the HDMI source but it's usually not enough.
And I don't know how it could actually damage a switcher
I have a HD Fury 2 barely used, still in packaging, that I might be interested in selling. Or have you sworn off all HD Fury products.
I've been using the Fury 1 and Fury Nano GX for a long time with no problems.

I used the provided power supply, my own power supply, direct usb (5v). Same thing happened. I'm down to purchase an HD Fury 2 perhaps but maybe it would be a hassle if you're from the US, I live in the middle east.

Fixed it! One of the DIP switches related to sync was damaged so it was sending incorrect signal. Seems like the picture is a bit dark though have to push contrast high to have a kinda bright picture but it over saturates colors and makes text unreadable. Also 720p60 works but 1080i is limited to 30hz for some reason. I also hear 1440i works but not sure how to do it, tried on CRU but got no signal on my D24.BazookaBen wrote:Were you using USB power with your HD Fury 3?
