I got an email from their newsletter about a Hayabusa (cool, like Ryu Hayabusa from DOA/NG) SUPERGUN! A friend of mine has a couple of these. I remember them requiring a lot of work to get started, specific video displays, EGA,CGA, to VGA board. Something called a kick harness for Capcom crap and other things.
A regular supergun sounded like something right up the alley of an arcade tech or metal worker. It looks like the Super Behar Bros simplified things with this device, my question is it plug & play? In other words I grab a rando arcade board, game board, arcade stick, and scart cable and this thing takes care of the rest? I get the feeling that would be too good to be true

It's not going to upscale or downscale for you, so you'll have to have an appropriate monitor for the games you want to run, or add in a scaler in your chain.
And you'll need kick harnesses since that's how games with more than 3 buttons tend to work in the arcade world (a few exceptions apply).
It's not really any different than most superguns.

I have a pvm for standard play and 3 different scalers which includes XRGB and the Tink.DejahThoris wrote:It's not going to upscale or downscale for you, so you'll have to have an appropriate monitor for the games you want to run, or add in a scaler in your chain.

So, I guess that addresses the question about video. If I took something like a Naomi Board or ZN2 Board then connected with Hayabusa through my PVM will it work straight out of the box?

Many users here prefer the HAS.
https://rgbslab.com/
It's worth waiting until the HAS and accessories are back in stock.

Naomi is a JVS platform, and you'd need some sort of JVS to JAMMA adapter like the Capcom IO, or one of the Taito or Sega ones. It's a different beast.Rock Man wrote:I have a pvm for standard play and 3 different scalers which includes XRGB and the Tink.DejahThoris wrote:It's not going to upscale or downscale for you, so you'll have to have an appropriate monitor for the games you want to run, or add in a scaler in your chain.

ZN2 would be fine, you'd need to again deal with a kick harness for additional buttons. It's the same one as CPS2, so something you can easily pick up.
Like orange808 said, HAS is an exceedingly good supergun, and if you don't need one today, it's the one to buy.
