Pioneer PDP-V402 issue - black line

Post by waiwainl »

Hi,

I have a Pioneer V402 for many years, always working. However, today I see a black line appearing horizontally.
I double checked any SCART connections; but even without any video feed (just turning it on), it gives the black line.

What could cause this? Any chance this can be fixed?

Probably a bad Y-Buffer board, or, if you're lucky, a poor connection to the ribbon cable betwee the panel and the board in question.

Thanks, I will first try to reattach the ribbon cable, see if it fits better.

Agree with Tongshadow. Y-buffer or Y-sustain board. There is also the possibility of a bad panel. 1 pixel wide purple vertical line on my 2013 Samsung would not go away no matter what boards I replaced or connectors I reseated.
