Translating Cave's (and other STG's) plot
Translating Cave's (and other STG's) plot
So I always wonder what the plot of cave's games are I mean some are translated, but most are not. I kinda wish there were folks translating the in game text of the games.

Which ones still aren't translated?
Re: Translating Cave's (and other STG's) plot
Even in English, DoDonPachi's plot reads like a foreign language. Shit's dumb.

CAVE stories typically involve people getting prosecutedt to the full extent of the jam and Saya complaining about how small her boobs are. You are not missing much in most cases.

I always had the impression that their background stories were more of a design guidance for the devs than stories for players.
Wouldn't mind a manga based on Guwange or Akai Katana though

Castle Shikigami's convoluted plot does similar things too, I like to think they do it for the hardcore fans.Necronom wrote:I always had the impression that their background stories were more of a design guidance for the devs than stories for players.

I'd like to see the full details of Ketsui and Ibara (i.e. endings and whatnot) in english. I've seen snippets, but nothing so straightforward as a translated text dump.
Who knows, perhaps the half-obscured mystique of an untranslated foreign game is more heady and potent than DA TROOF.

Beyond the tongue-in-cheek, this seems uncannily accurate.Steven wrote:CAVE stories typically involve people getting prosecutedt to the full extent of the jam
