Gamecube and Switch Questions

Post by neorichieb1971 »

Hi,

I have 2 NTSC gamecubes modded and I live in a PAL territory (UK). If I buy a PAL game will it run in some sort of playable state? Both have digital outputs, I have a HDMI dongle and some component cables which would be the preferred way of playing. NTSC USA gamecube games are stupidly priced these days.

On nother note, I have read recently about Wii U systems having RAM which deteriorates over time and bricks the system. I was wondering if Switch game cards use this same sort of memory and if over time they will also brick? The Switch is a godly system that will cater for much of anyones retro needs with HDMI etc, so it is becoming quite a favourite among those who like modern and retro titles. But I don't like the idea of buying lots of stuff on the Switch if its going to die systematically. Does anyone have any idea of what memory is used in the switch cards and if its the sort that deteriorates over time?

Can you break your answer down into these categories

* If you use the game a lot
* if you just store it for a long time

Thanks.

Richie.
