It was a USA seller selling a Dreamcast Agetec joystick. Is that against the rules?

I remember one time I was bidding on a Taito G-Card of Psyvariar Medium unit and the eBay seller told me at the end of his auction that he decided to keep it instead. I thought that was against the rules as per say on eBay...once the auction is completed, then do it. So I wasn't able to get that Psyvariar MU Taito G-Card that I wanted. Damn!

The sale is legally binding. It's hard to find, but ebay rules specify that your seller must sell you the item at the closing price, or you can report them. It's like the reverse of a non-paying bidder. Too bad I found out after a seller chickened out of an MD player I won.

I've fortunately have never run into an issue, hell i didn't think anyone could legally pull an item that is already won. Now I cross my fingers on an Ebay item I just bought with the BIN option ( two actually, R-Types and Castle Shikigami 2) that the seller won't try that on me(doubtful as the game isn't really rare or highly sought after, save by me ;)).

When I sold a lot of stuff on E-bay I've received countless e-mails from people who offered me a certain sum of money (usually higher than the current highest bet but way lower of what the price would come out to be - the gits always try to cheat you) if I retired the item before the closing time. Of course it's not only pathetic but it's kinda unfair for the other bidders. But I guess many people don't think about fairness but just get convinced by nasty buyers and their "under the desk" offers.
Alas, Ikaruga is going...

Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?

eBay won't care for small ticket items, at least from my experience. Most recently, I won a Mutant League Football and Fairy Tale Adventure boxed and mint. I sent an e-mail right away notifying the seller that I'll be sending payment via Western Union money order. Five days later I get a letter from the seller returning the money order, saying I didn't pay in time and he sold the items to another. He was just upset I got a deal, and eBay didn't care. :(
