I like the design of the joystick. Has a more serious look compared to other Jakks releases in the U.S. I think it's worth it for 1942 and Ghosts n Goblins. Now if they would just bring out another one with Section Z and Sidearms...

I was at my local Best Buy this part weekend and was strolling through the aisles, when an eye-catchy Super Pac-Man game controller (is currently the newest one from Jakks Pacific) was there on the shelf. It has four different Pac-Man games to select from. And it was priced at $19.99 USD. ^_~

I wonder how good is it compared to being played on Mame?

I can't speak for these in particular, but almost all of the Jakks Pacific TV Games I've seen are reprogrammings, not emulations. Some come out better than others. Pac-Man, for example, felt kind of like the arcade, but if you're used to emulation you could tell the difference right away. Pole Position was totally off and pretty bad.

I'd recommend these only to people who haven't seen the games in years, don't know what MAME is, and can't tell the difference.

My main beef with these joysticks is that you can get pretty much any of the games on Namco Musuem volumes. For example, if you track down Namco Museum vol. 2, for the PS1, you get Super Pac-Man, plus Gaplus, which is a fantasic sequel to Galaga. Sure, it's more expensive, but the emulation is great.

Now, if you're talking about the plug and play controllers that have games like Slap-Fight on them, that aren't on any console collection, (or are insanely expensive) that's another matter. But I don't even know if anyone on here has purchased one of those controllers, so I cannot say how good the emulation is. (See this thread: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.ph ... slap+fight)
